About Under 19 World Cup 2020 Warm Up Matches
The Under 19 World Cup 2020 will begin in South Africa on 17 January 2020. A total of 16 teams will be participating in the three-week long tournament, which will be a challenge to teams not having conditions similar to South Africa at home.
The U19 World Cup Warm Up games will be extremely crucial and beneficial for teams with high potential but less exposure to South African conditions where the pitches are more bouncy than in the subcontinental regions. These matches will also provide the teams the exact measure of the balance needed. It can also be a teaser of what the tournament can provide to the world of cricket.
Therefore, ICC has scheduled two warm-up matches for each team before the actual event starts. The Under 19 World Cup warm up matches will begin on 12 January 2019 with the hosts taking on the Sri Lankan side.
A total of 16 matches will be played from 12 to 15 January 2020. These matches will be played on 6 different grounds in Pretoria, Johannesburg, Soweto and Hammanskraal.
