Yellawood 500 History

The first Yellawood 500 race was held in 1969. It was won by Richard Brickhouse. The Yellawood 500 swapped names with the premier event that happened at the Talladega Superspeedway in spring. It was known as the Winston 500 from 1998 to 2000 for sponsorship reasons. The 2023 Yellawood 500 race was won by Ryan Blaney for Team Penske. He went on to win the drivers' championship in 2023.

Yellawood 500 2024 Schedule

The Yellawood 500 2024 will be held on October 6 from 2:00 PM Eastern Time. NASCAR has not released the official schedule for the race on its site yet. The race will be a 188-lap event spanning over a distance of 500.08 miles. It will be divided into three stages, wherein the first two stages of the race will be 60 laps each and the last stage will be 68 laps long.

Yellawood 500 2024 Venue

The Yellawood 500 in 2024 will be held at the Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Alabama. The track is a 2.66-mile-long asphalt superspeedway. It is the longest oval used by NASCAR and requires restrictor plates to curb the high speeds the Cup Series cars can achieve during the race. The Talladega Superspeedway has a banking of 33 degrees at the turns and a banking of 16.5 degrees on the front stretch. The lap record at the track was set by Parker Kligerman in 2019. He clocked in a time of 0:46.530 with his Toyota Camry.

Drivers with the most number of wins at the Yellawood 500

Dale Earnhardt has claimed the most number of wins at the Yellawood 500. He has won seven races throughout his career including his final race win at the event. Richard Childress Racing is the most successful team in the event with eight wins throughout the history of the race. Chevrolet is the most successful manufacturer with 22 wins.
