Zimbabwe vs UAE 2019

This summer, the United Arab Emirates Cricket team is all set to tour the African nation of Zimbabwe on a four-match One-Day International series starting on 10th of April, 2019. All of the matches will be played at the Harare Sports Club, Harare.

The last time when the UAE Cricket team visited Zimbabwe on 22nd of March, 2018, for the World Cup qualifiers, they defeated the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team by just three runs via the Duckworth-Lewis method at the same Harare Sports Club cricket ground.

It was quite a heartbreak for the Zimbabweans who, while chasing a target of 230 runs in 40 overs fell short by just 3 runs in the end. The heroics of Man of the Series, Sikandar Raza and the top scores of the tournament, Brendan Taylor (457 runs), all went in vain. While the UAE scored 235/7 in 47.5 overs the Duckworth-Lewis target of 230 in 40 overs was rather cruel and unfair for the Zimbabwe National Cricket team. But that's how the laws of the game go. However, even the UAE National cricket team was unable to secure a World Cup seat and finished at the bottom of the Super Sixes table, in the World Cup 2019 qualifying tournament.

Zimbabwe for one, wouldn't have forgotten how their World Cup hopes were trampled and crushed by the UAE as they walk into this series. Zimbabwe will put their minds, hearts and bodies to the task of taking a befitting revenge.
