AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2025 Tournament Purse History
The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am was established as the Bing Crosby Pro-Am in 1937, with a $500 winner's share that stayed unchanged until 1942. Following that, the tournament was unable to take place due to World War II, resuming in 1947 with a winner's share of $2,000. In 1960, the event featured a $50,000 purse, with the winner receiving $4,000.
Since then, until 1982, the event's purse has been quite inconsistent, not following the regular growth pattern but with occasional dips and spikes. For example, in 1965, the tournament featured a purse of $84,500, which grew to $104,500 the next year before dropping to $80,000 in 1967. They had a purse of $300,000 in 1980, which dipped to $225,000 in 1981 before returning to $300,000 in 1982. Following that, it steadily increased to a purse of $1 million, with the winner's share of $180,000 in 1989.
In 1999, the purse reached $2.8 million, and in 2000, it increased further to $4 million, with the winner receiving $720,000. The purse increased to $9 million 23 years later, with the winner receiving a share of $1.62 million. However, things changed for the better in 2024 when the PGA Tour launched eight signature events, resulting in smaller fields and greater purses; the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am was one of them. As a result, its purse amounted to $20 million, with the winner receiving $3.6 million.
