One of the popular LPGA Tournaments is the Honda LPGA Thailand Tournament, which has been held annually in Thailand since 2006. At first, it used to take place at the Amata Spring Country Club, but since 2007, it has been moved to Pattaya and has been held in Old Course at Siam Country Club, Pattaya. As Thailand's first LPGA Tour event, it expanded its global reach to eight countries, including the United States. Unfortunately, just when the tournament gained momentum, it briefly paused in 2008; it returned in 2009 at the Plantation Course for a year before settling back at the Old Course in 2010.
The Honda LPGA Thailand has an interesting format; it is a limited-field event with no cut and features fewer competitors than a standard LPGA tournament. For instance, the 2011 edition had 60 players, including professionals and amateurs, while the 2012 event saw 70 players compete, with top-ranked Yani Tseng successfully defending her title. Honda, a leading Japanese manufacturer of vehicles and robotics, serves as the tournament's title sponsor. Here is a list of the courses where the Honda LPGA Thailand has been played.
