The 2024 Open de France is the latest DP World Tour tournament. Like some previous events, it will see top golfers from the PGA and DP World Tour competing against one another. While some golfers are taking time off after the FedEx Cup season concluded, there are still a lot of big names in the field. Only one can win, and there's one favorite to do just that.

11-time professional golf winner Billy Horschel is the favorite to win the tournament. He's not a runaway favorite, though as several players have similar odds to him. Jordan Smith is also a player to watch. He has done well lately, including a T2 and solo seventh-place finish. His long game is strong, and his putting has improved. That could pave the way for a winning outing.

Victor Perez is another player to watch. He's at home in front of local French fans and playing at a course he knows well. The Olympics, where he put on a great show, were at Le Golf National, and so is the Open de France.

Matthieu Pavon is a long shot, but the player is also at home and could surprise people. He has put in a few good performances over the last year and is currently ranked 17th in the DP World Tour, so the talent to outdo his +5000 odds to win is there. Other players to watch out for include Alex Fitzpatrick, Yannik Paul, and Thomas Detry. Thorbjorn Oleson only recently turned pro, but he has the talent to surprise in this event.

For many of these players, the Open de France is the national open so some pride is at stake, as well as the prize purse that will be paid out on Sunday. As such, they might overperform in front of local fans, which is something to consider.
