Collin Morikawa's wife, Katherine, had some nice words to say about her husband after his campaign at the Paris Olympics. She mentioned that she loved cheering for her husband, referring to him as a goat.

Collin Morikawa was in medal contention at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and had an average outing this week. He tied for 24th at 6-under, thirteen strokes behind Paris Olympics winner Scottie Scheffler.

Following the final round of the 2024 Olympics golf men's event, Katherine wrote:

"loved cheering on my goat 🐐🐞"

Katherine Morikawa is also an athlete and has played golf and tennis. She has won multiple accolades during her time at Pepperdine University. Notably, she met Colline Morikawa during her college days, when the golfer studied at the University of California, Berkeley. The couple got married in 2022 at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles.

Is Collin Morikawa competing at the Wyndham Championship?

While 18 of the Olympians are set to compete at the Wyndham Championship, Collin Morikawa is set to skip the tournament. The Wyndham Championship will mark the end of the PGA Tour 2024 regular season. The event will be held from Thursday, August 8, to Sunday, August 11, at the Sedgefield Country Club. This will be the last event for players to get inside the top 70 of the FedEx Cup standings to qualify for the playoffs.

Since Collin Morikawa is 4th in the FedEx Cup standings, skipping the Wyndham Championship will not impact him. He has missed just two cuts in eighteen appearances this season and has registered seven top tens, including a runner-up finish at the Memorial Tournament.

The Wyndham Championship will be a 156-player field competing for a purse size of $7.9 million. The field will feature many notable names, such as Sungjae Im and Shane Lowry, who are the highest-ranked players in the field.

The Wyndham Championship field also includes Keegan Bradley, Denny McCarthy, Will Zalatoris, Mac Hughes, Jake Knapp, Harris English, Austin Eckroat, and Nick Taylor, who are in the top 50 of the FedEx Cup standings but will look to secure their spot for the signature event of the next season.

Patrick Rodgers, Justin Rose, Aaron Rai, and Eric Cole are a few names just outside the top 50 of the FedEx Cup standings. Besides, names like Mark Hubbard, Nick Dunlap, Jhonattan Vegas, Emiliano Grillo, Seamus Power, Brendon Todd, Victor Perez, Davis Riley, Andrew Putnam, Kurt Kitayama, and Luke List, who are either on the verge or just outside of qualifying, will look to lock their spot for the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
