Although Kevin Kisner has been named NBC's latest golf analyst for the 2025 PGA Tour season, he hasn't yet hung up his clubs. He will continue his competitive career alongside the brand-new role.

Kisner recently spoke to Gary and the Sleeze on SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio about this new career stream. He praised NBC for accommodating his professional career and encouraging his choice to continue playing. The US golfer negotiated with the media giant saying:

"I am a golfer first, not an analyst first. I love working with the team but I want to play," [0:19 onwards]

Kisner then talked about NBC's "unbelievable" reaction to his condition.

"They were all for it. They were the most unbelievable people to negotiate with. They think it's a great attribute if I am competing," [0:25 onwards]

Kevin Kisner did not get his fully exempted PGA Tour card for the upcoming season as he ended outside the top 125. However, he will play in limited events next year and be present at most weekend rounds, in a different avatar.

The 40-year-old further added what his future with NBC would look like depending on his exemption status.

"Brittany (Kisner, his wife) and I both agreed we would try to do both for one year and at the end of 2025 we will figure it out,"

He further added:

"If I don't win or I don't keep my cards, we will see about going forward with the NBC, if that happens. If not, I can renegotiate with these guys,"

Kisner will also play at the much-awaited TGL next year. The golfer is a part of the Jupiter Links Golf Club, along with organizers Tiger Woods, Tom Kim, and Max Homa.

Kevin Kisner will be present in golf broadcasts opposite Dan Hicks for NBC's weekend coverage of important matches such as the Players Championship, Open Championship, and US Open. The former has also been crowned the lead analyst for the FedEx Cup Playoffs and the 2025 Ryder Cup.

Kisner was more than excited about this opportunity. He said in a press release (via Golf Week):

"I’m looking forward to offering a different voice and adding a new dynamic to the broadcasts, hopefully reaching more fans and telling things like it is. That’s what I think I do best. I’m also excited to continue to compete on the PGA Tour amongst my peers, which I think will help me to tap into what these guys are really feeling on the course."

He also mentioned the legacy of former NBC stars Paul Azinger and Johnny Miller. following a break, Azinger will return and be the lead analyst in the PGA Tour Champions events next year, having ended his stint with NBC in 2023.

Tommy Roy, lead golf producer of NBC Sports, talked about roping in Kevin Kisner for the 2025 PGA Tour season in the press release.

"Kevin always shared frank and honest opinions about the game of golf during our various conversations through the years," he said.

He further added:

"Those kinds of opinions and his engaging personality make Kiz a great fit for our broadcast team. He knows these players, he knows this game, and the audience will get to hear more of those opinions and that personality this season."

The next PGA Tour season will start with The Sentry in January 2025. The competition will commence on January 2 and will be held at the Kapalua Plantation Course in Maui, Hawaii.
