Rickie Fowler is gearing up for the 2024 Sanderson Farms Championship. Fowler comes to the tournament after a long break of more than 10 weeks. He last competed in the Open Championship at Royal Troon in July.

Since then, Fowler hasn't played competitive golf. The 2024 edition will be held at the Country Club of Jackson in Jackson, Mississippi from Thursday, October 3 to 6. In the pre-tournament press conference, talking about the break, Rickie Fowler said (via Golfweek):

"I guess the last month and a half or so I've gotten back more into working on the game and getting ready to come here. It was odd packing, back to life on the road. Typically traveling with the family, it made more sense to come solo."

Rickie Fowler's wife Allison gave birth to their second daughter, Nellie, in August. They both have been married since 2019 and welcomed their first daughter Maya in November 2021. He further said:

"It feels good to have that time off, kind of refresh, rebuild a bit. Excited to come back out. It was definitely a different feeling packing and getting ready to come here versus just going to another tournament. It kind of feels a little bit like a fresh start."

The winner of the Sanderson Farms Championship will take home $1.37 million of the total purse of $7.6 million for the tournament. Fowler is looking to a busy month ahead and intends to play at the Shriners Children's Open at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas and Zozo Championship in Japan.
