In a recent interview with talkSPORT.com, British McLaren driver Lando Norris spoke about participating in the Pebble Beach Pro-AM.
The Pebble Beach Pro-Am is famous for having personalities from different fields compete alongside the top golf pros in the world. Norris expressed his disappointment about not making it to the tournament.
“I was disappointed. But it’s too close to the beginning of the season, sadly," said Norris jokingly.
"More focus here than on my golf career at the minute, " Formula 1 star added. "But I have plenty of years left to do it.”
Norris is often seen trying his hand at golf in his spare time.
During this year's Pro-Am, all eyes were on recently retired Real Madrid and Wales legend Gareth Bale, who partnered alongside Joseph Bramlett. Both finished in joint 16th place. Bale impressed everyone with his gameplay, stunning even the commentators with his shots.
Norris has quickly become one of the most prominent names in F1 and has achieved an impressive six-podium finish. In 2022, the 23-year-old was the second-best performing driver, only behind Max Verstappen. He also finished second in popularity in the F1 Global Survey commissioned by Motorsport Network.
Norris ended 2022 by being the only driver to secure a podium finish outside Red Bull, Mercedes, and Ferrari in Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
