Fans on social media have reacted to Viktor Hovland's recent update on his injury and his chances of missing the PGA Tour season opener, The Sentry. The Norwegian golfer has been away from the greens since his last outing at the Tour Championship.
Hovland was expected to make his much-anticipated comeback this week at The Sentry. However, ahead of the tournament, the PGA Tour pro revealed that he suffered from a broken toe and is "still unsure" about playing this week.
Nuclr Golf shared an update on Viktor Hovland's comeback on its X (formerly Twitter) account, writing:
"Viktor Hovland confirms he has suffered a broken toe and may attempt to play on Thursday in Maui, but is still unsure: “I’m hoping that taping it up and painkillers will be enough to get me through the week.” (Via @espenblaker)"
Fans jumped to the comments section and reacted to Hovland's injury.
"Not a chance in hell. Walking is painful enough. Full swings? Nope. Not for 4 weeks at least," a fan wrote.
Meanwhile, another fan stated that Hovland "needs a rebound season."
"Hovland needs a rebound season more than anyone," another fan said.
Yet another compared it to LIV Golf.
"Could you imagine a player on LIV doing something similar?" one more fan jotted.
