Rory McIlroy predicts the final-round score needed to stay in contention at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic

Rory McIlroy is currently campaigning for his fifth Hero Dubai Desert Classic title in UAE. He is placed T12 after Round 3 with a score of 6-under. The Northern Irish star has been in a lacklustre form this week. The windy conditions haven't been in his favour either.

However, despite the current scenario, Rory McIlroy spoke of his chances in the event during the post-round press conference on Saturday. He also predicted the score he would have to attain in the final round.

"Depends on what the conditions are tomorrow. I would say it won't go much -- I don't think the winning score will go much past 13, depending on obviously the conditions. But I mean, 15, so I'd need to go out and shoot 63 tomorrow," he said via ASAP Sports.

The 5-time Major champion has staged incredible comebacks in the past and he is still not counting himself out of contention.

"If the conditions are right, I've been able to do that before, especially if you can make a score on the front nine before, as you say, that scorable back nine, my key tomorrow is if I can get off to a faster start and shoot three or four on the front, then I have a chance,"

The final round of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic will take place on Sunday. Daniel Hillier of New Zealand is leading the standings at the moment.
