The 2025 Masters Tournament will be the first major of the season and the 89th iteration of the tournament itself. It will take place at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, from April 10 to April 13. Between 85 and 100 players will compete in the 72-par stroke play event. The Masters Tournament was inaugurated more than 90 years ago, in 1934, and has been held at the same course since then. Traditions of the event include the winner of the previous year throwing a champions' dinner before the annual event.
Directions for the Masters Tournament 2025
Patrons driving to the Masters Tournament from Atlanta or the West should use I-20 East into Augusta and obey parking and traffic signals. Those traveling from Columbia, S.C., or the east should use I-20 West toward Augusta and follow the same signs (via VisitAugusta.com).
The traffic strategy for Augusta's 2025 Masters Tournament is explained by John Ussery, assistant director of the city's Traffic Engineering Division, according to the Augusta Chronicle. The QR code was first introduced in 2024 and will guide users to available parking spaces. It will also tell users how to avoid trouble spots.
Previously, during Masters Week, Ussery would urge drivers to focus on Augusta's roads rather than checking their phones and to refrain from using GPS. However, Ussery stated that there is an app for the 2025 season:
"For years and years, my mantra was 'turn off your GPS, turn off your GPS,' but now it's 'turn on your GPS' and get the QR code and download the app."
He added that the traffic plan is largely unchanged from the previous year.
The primary objective is to manage traffic to and from Augusta National safely and effectively. Thus, there will be roughly 20 movable signs to help cars find parking spaces, besides the app. Further, every day from 7 a.m. to around 9 a.m., the Washington Road off-ramp from Interstate 20 will be closed. Atlanta traffic will be rerouted to Exit 200 to make the quick detour to Alexander Drive via River Watch Parkway (via the Augusta Chronicle).
