According to reports, Angel Ayora has turned down an offer to move to the LIV Golf league. The DP World Tour star was reportedly offered a two-year contract to join Martin Kaymer's Cleeks GC.

Ten Golf issued the first report of the news regarding the World No. 238 golfer. With LIV Golf's CEO Greg Norman trying to recruit more players from the PGA Tour and DP World Tour, golf enthusiasts are eager to learn more about the Saudi-based league's growing roster.

Reacting to the news, an X user said:

"who tf is that guy"

Since the inception of LIV Golf in 2022, several members of the PGA Tour left after being offered a heavy signing cheque with the league. Another fan noted:

"If true, dumbest choice of all time."

Here are a few other fan reactions to Ayora staying away from the LIV Golf league:

"Staying true to real golf. Not greed," said a fan.
An X user commented, "We need more Angel Ayora’s"
"Cleeks really hurting. Just dissolve this waste of a golf league," stated a golf enthusiast.
A user commented, "The 1st of many. He’s seen what LIV has done to other golfers. I thought with Rahm, Phil, and Bryson, young players would be flocking to LIV. Apparently not. Some people have great mental attitudes. Good choice Angel."

LIV Golf announces Thomas Pieters' next move

According to a report from Sports Illustrated, Thomas Pieters has signed a deal to join the LIV Golf league. The Ryder Cup star will join Dustin Johnson's 4Aces GC team for the 2025 season.

Pieters joined the Saudi-based league early in 2023 as a part of Bubba Watson's RangeGoats GC. The trade between the two teams marks the league's first official trade for the off-season.

With 28 career starts on the RangeGoats GC, Pieters matches LIV Golf's record for the longest tenure on a team. While 4Aces GC earned a fifth player, the RangeGoats did not receive a player in the exchange and are left with an open spot for next year.

Here's what the General Manager of the RangeGoats GC had to say about the loss of Pieters (via LIV Golf):

"The decision to trade Thomas Pieters was not easy. He has been a valuable member of RangeGoats GC since we launched two years ago. But the nature of LIV and team golf requires teams to make tough decisions. Like other team sports, we have to take into account a host of factors, including player contracts and the fact we have a limited number of roster spots. In this case, we felt the roster flexibility and the possibilities it opens up was best for the RangeGoats.”
