GTA 6 developer Rockstar Games has started sending its employees holiday-season merchandise. This is essentially an annual tradition. On December 19, 2024, one of the game's mission designers, Joe (@Reckope), shared a picture of their gift on X.
The image quickly gained attention in the Grand Theft Auto community, with fans eagerly searching for clues related to GTA 6's release.
Some fans, such as fxsupermaster (@fxsupermaster), noticed the interesting color scheme on the gifted T-shirt/sweater. The Rockstar Games logo features a color pattern that closely resembles the GTA 6 logo and its artwork.
Another fan, Captain Oreo (@Cpt_Oreo4), commented on X:
“Rockstar goodie bag. 2025 release date confirmed.”
Meanwhile, others inquired about the GTA 6 trailer 2. A user named Markus (@tbmarkus) speculated about its release date:
“Cat has 2 eyes. Trailer Vol. 2 on January 1st 2025 confirmed.”
Another user, PRIMETIME (@DexterM78187646), shared a wild theory regarding the Grand Theft Auto 6 release date:
“Hear me out what if this is a gift for working on GTA 6 and there been given out because they are done with the game and are waiting for Christmas next year because then everyone can get it for Christmas as a present.”
Meanwhile, Radioman (X/@aiboyswich_) proposed that the Rockstar Games logos on the merchandise might contain hidden hints about the next trailer's release date.
“Count how many R* logos on the wrap. I think they're trying to tell you when the trailer announcement is.”
It's worth noting that Rockstar Games has been silent about Grand Theft Auto 6 for over a year. While fans anticipate a fall 2025 release for the game, the studio has yet to unveil the GTA trailer 2, leaving the community eager for any new details.
Insider claims the GTA 6 release date may get delayed
While Grand Theft Auto fans are clamoring for a new trailer and/or screenshots, popular insider Jason Schreier recently shared some concerning news. In an interview, he suggested that the release date of GTA 6 might slip into 2026.
Schreier explained that since game development has become complex over the years, delays in finishing projects have become more common. Rockstar Games, in particular, has a history of pushing back release dates.
Having said that, it should be noted that Schreier's comments are based on his personal opinions, and Rockstar Games has yet to confirm a delay regarding the title's launch date.
