The upcoming GTA Online Summer Update 2024 is the most exciting thing fans of the franchise can look forward to right now, as there's no new announcement about Grand Theft Auto 6. Called Bottom Dollar Bounties, this upcoming DLC will be released on June 25 2024 for the PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Plenty of interesting new features and additions are coming as part of this update.

While the GTA Online Summer Update 2024 has generated some excitement through the trailer and the announcements so far, there have also been some disappointments.

Here's a short list of all such things.

Most exciting things coming in GTA Online Summer Update 2024

1) Bounty Hunter business

The Bounty Hunter business is clearly the focus of the GTA Online Summer Update 2024, as the DLC itself is called Bottom Dollar Bounties, referring to this activity. In this exciting new game mode, you chase bail jumpers as bounty hunters, much like the Bail Bonds missions from Grand Theft Auto 5. Rockstar even brought back Maude, the woman who used to provide these missions.

A new type of property will be associated with the Bounty Hunter business, likely called Bottom Dollar Bail Enforcement. There's also what looks like a new Burrito van associated with this property.

2) Vigilante missions

For the longest time, Grand Theft Auto fans have been asking for Vigilante missions in the series, like in all of the older games. So, what could be more exciting than a series of new Vigilante missions in GTA Online Summer Update 2024? These are supposed to be played out for Vincent Effenberger, the security guard turned police officer who provided you with The Cluckin Bell Farm Raid heist.

3) New police cars

The Chop Shop DLC was the first time in Grand Theft Auto Online that Rockstar introduced purchasable police cars. In fact, this was the first hint at Vigilante missions returning to the series, which Rockstar is now introducing with the GTA Online Summer Update 2024. Now, The Chop Shop and The Cluckin Bell Farm Raid updates introduced five police vehicles, and Rockstar seems to be increasing the roster with more cop cars.

The trailer seems to have revealed at least three new police vehicles: the Dorado, the Greenwood, and the Impaler.

Some of the disappointing things about GTA Online Summer Update 2024

1) No Michael

Many fans had been expecting to see Michael in the upcoming GTA Online Summer Update 2024, but he didn't appear in the trailer. So it's safe to say that Michael isn't appearing in Bottom Dollar Bounties. This has naturally disappointed many fans, as they've been requesting Rockstar to bring Ned Luke, the GTA 5 voice actor for Michael, back to the studio for a new DLC.

2) No HSW and other upgrades on PC

At this point, it seems PC is the most ignored platform for the Grand Theft Auto series. Past titles from the series had bad or inferior PC ports, and GTA 6 wasn't announced for PCs yet. When it comes to Grand Theft Auto Online, PC has been plagued by hackers for years, and Rockstar hasn't fixed or even acknowledged it.

Many features in the game are exclusive for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players, like graphical improvements and so on. Several quality-of-life features, like an option to sort all your garage vehicles, aren't available for PC users.

Even the HSW (Hao's Special Works) upgrades, which let certain vehicles cross the GTA 5 vehicle speed limitation meant for the older consoles, haven't made it to PC. This makes no sense as most PCs can surpass this hardware limitation.
