Flying cars are a controversial topic within the Grand Theft Auto community. It is no secret that after GTA Online, the majority of fans don't want to see such vehicles in GTA 6. Instead, they want the franchise to return to its realistic and grounded roots that have always been its strength. However, there is no way to tell if Rockstar Games feels the same about futuristic vehicles being added to the sequel's car list.

Therefore, if the upcoming title does end up featuring flying cars, there are a few real-life concepts that can serve as inspirations. Let's look at five flying prototypes that the GTA 6 car list must have in such a case.

1) ITEC Maverick

The ITEC Maverick isn't a flying car per se but is capable of gliding way up in the sky with the help of a parachute and an airboat-like propeller fan mounted behind it. The prototype's body is designed somewhat similar to a buggy and it moves on land just like any other car.

Maverick's addition to the GTA 6 car list, in a nutshell, would strike a decent balance between realism and some of the outlandish futuristic automobiles seen in GTA Online.

2) Xpeng X2

The Xpeng X2 delves more into the futuristic flying car aspect in terms of design. It boasts a sleek body, features four propellers extending out of each corner, and even has helicopter-like landing gears instead of wheels.

What's interesting is that the X2 has completed a public flight in Dubai. So, if Rockstar Games wants to add flying cars in GTA 6, this prototype is one to take inspiration from.

3) Xpeng AeroHT eVTOL

The Xpeng AeroHT eVTOL is one of the best-looking flying car prototypes out there. Its body exudes a supercar vibe that makes it a sight to behold. However, the way eVTOL transitions into a flying car is much more fascinating.

Four propellers extend out of the vehicle's roof and vertically lift it into the sky. This is a futuristic concept, but if GTA 6's story or online mode car list ends up using flying cars, the Xpeng AeroHT can add a lot of style to that department.

4) Klein Vision Flying Car

Klein Vision's Flying Car prototype, just like the Xpeng X2, has also completed a flight test in real life. It drives like any regular vehicle on land and has a distinct look that draws a lot of attention.

When switched to flight mode, two wings pop out of its sides and aid the vehicle in taking to the sky with the help of a propeller at the back. In a nutshell, the Klein Vision Flying Car is how most people would envision a vehicle of its type. It would also make traveling across the GTA 6 map quite easy, which is why Rockstar Games can consider it.

5) Bellwether eVTOL

The Bellwether eVTOL is an extremely futuristic flying car prototype. It almost looks like a spaceship and can fly, as well as hover, much like the Imponte Deluxo in GTA Online. Hence, the addition of such an automobile to GTA 6's car list wouldn't be that odd.

In fact, it would also make traveling across the state of Leonida quick and easy. Additionally, its unique design can become a prized possession among players. That being said, such cars could cost a lot of in-game cash.
