GTA 4 felt quite revolutionary when it came out, and it's not just owing to the gameplay or graphics. The game had some new, innovative mission types that made you feel immersed in the dark and gritty world of Liberty City. Now, while the majority of the game features the same old Grand Theft Auto run-and-gun formula, fans would love to see a few types of missions again.
GTA 6 provides the perfect opportunity to do so, and this would be the best way for the upcoming game to live up to Grand Theft Auto IV's legacy. Rockstar could pay homage to one of their best games by implementing some unique mission types in their upcoming game.
So, here's a list of mission types from GTA 4 that GTA 6 could reimplement.

5 types of GTA 4 missions that should return in GTA 6
1) Bank robbery mission
When we talk about missions in Grand Theft Auto IV, Three Leaf Clover is the first thing that comes to mind. This is the big, bad, bank robbery mission which is directly influenced by heist movies like Heat (1995) and Point Break (1991). If Rockstar were to only choose one mission type from Grand Theft Auto 4, it should be this one.
Three Leaf Clover features a bank heist gone wrong when one of the robbers is killed along with a hostage. Once you exit the bank, the outside will be crawling with cops. You'll have to somehow survive the onslaught and escape with the cash, using the subway tracks to lose your pursuers.
2) Police missions
The 3D Universe Grand Theft Auto games (GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas) have all featured a series of side-missions called Vigilante. These allow you to hop into any police or military vehicle and start eliminating dangerous criminals for money. However, the GTA 4 iteration of Vigilante is the most advanced, where you don't need to race against the clock anymore.
Instead, you use the police computer inside a cop car to learn the whereabouts of wanted criminals and hunt them down on foot. Grand Theft Auto VI should bring this feature back, possibly even inspired by GTA Online's Dispatch Work missions.
3) Assassination missions
Grand Theft Auto IV's assassination missions are very much like those in Vice City, where you get the mission via payphones. Every mission has a fixed target whose location is provided by a man called The Fixer, along with a specific weapon required for the mission.
Grand Theft Auto V and its online counterpart also have assassination missions, but these don't feel as genuine or believable as the ones in its predecessor. As such, Rockstar should return with The Fixer's Assassinations in Grand Theft Auto VI.
4) Museum mission
Museum Piece is a mission in Grand Theft Auto IV that takes place inside The Libertonian museum. Many aspects make this unique. First of all, it takes place inside a museum; secondly, the gunfight can damage the different museum exhibits like the T-Rex and Triceratops specimens.
Now, there are different perspectives to this mission, the other is offered during The Ballad of Gay Tony, one of the expansions to Grand Theft Auto IV. GTA 6 should feature such crossover missions where you get to experience two sides of the same mission.
5) Interview mission
One of the most interesting missions in GTA 4 features Niko pretending to apply for an interview at a law firm. In the guise of a potential candidate, Niko's real objective is to eliminate one of the founders of the law firm, Tom Goldberg.
The dialogue in this mission is quite unique, with Niko making subtle references to his real purpose. It's eerily similar to a mission in Hitman III, where you get the opportunity to pose as a candidate for an interview, with Agent 47 making some memorable comments.
