While GTA Online is one of the most popular multiplayer games, with 20 million active players monthly, it is not entirely flawless. Rockstar Games is known for its perfection and attention to detail, but it made some significant mistakes that are still prevalent in the game. Although the studio fixed some of the mistakes pointed out by the player base, a few notable ones are still in the game.
This article lists five of the huge mistakes Rockstar Games made in GTA Online.

5 considerable mistakes Rockstar Games made in GTA Online
1) Adding flying cars and bikes
Having futuristic flying cars and bikes is one of the biggest problems in GTA Online that fans want Rockstar Games to fix ASAP. The Grand Theft Auto series never had such vehicles, except for when you use cheat codes. However, the studio surprisingly added flying cars and bikes that do not need any cheat codes to operate.
While adding such vehicles was already a huge mistake, the studio even made them carry and fire missiles. This changed the griefing scenario in the multiplayer game and broke the peaceful nature of it. Earlier, griefing was fun and required skills. But now, anyone can hop into a flying car or bike and shoot missiles.
2) Not adding dedicated servers
GTA Online players have been requesting dedicated servers for years. But Rockstar Games shows no interest in doing so. As a result, some foul players get the chance to use various Grand Theft Auto 5 mods that ruin the gaming experience for others.
The lack of dedicated servers, especially on PC, has also resulted in dire situations in the past. Players were cyber-attacked by various hackers and lost their GTA Online accounts. Many insiders previously stated that Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games’ parent company, was not interested in investing money for dedicated servers.
3) Not releasing the Expanded and Enhanced version on PC
The latest version of the current game was released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in March 2022. However, Rockstar Games has yet to release the GTA 5 Expanded and Enhanced version on PC. Not releasing the new version on old-gen consoles is understandable due to hardware limitations.
But, PC has technically unlimited potential. Therefore, the developer should not hold the Expanded and Enhanced version to three platforms only. GTA Online fans have been asking for the new update for years, but Rockstar is focusing on the consoles and releasing newer content there. As a result, PC players are stuck with an older version of the game.
4) Alerting players about others’ activities
It is an in-game feature where GTA Online alerts other players in your sessions about your activities. This is one of the main reasons why griefing is so prevalent in the multiplayer game. On one hand, Rockstar encourages you to do your business in crowded lobbies; and on the other hand, it encourages others to destroy your items.
The recently released GTA Online Bottom Dollar DLC also did not fix this long-standing issue. Although you can do all your activities in private lobbies, doing so disconnects you from the greater community.
5) Not considering solo-friendly gameplay earlier
Rockstar Games should have considered solo-friendly gameplay earlier. While making money in the game is already a little complicated, gathering additional players to go with you is another pain. The content added in the last few years is more solo-friendly, but many early missions still require multiple partners.
This is especially difficult for new players as they usually don’t have many friends in the game. Therefore, the solo money-making methods in GTA Online should have been the priority.
