GTA 6 will be one of the biggest video game releases in a really long time. The highly anticipated Rockstar Games title will be out in Fall 2025, which, needless to say, is quite far out from now. Although GTA 5 and Online can keep you entertained while you wait, there are a few other upcoming titles that will be out much before the next Grand Theft Auto installment and could do the same.

Many of them were showcased in the recently held events like Summer Game Fest 2024. With that said, let's take a look at five five new games to play in 2024 while waiting for GTA 6.

Star Wars is one of the most popular Hollywood movie franchises and has been so for decades. Ubisoft is now coming out a brand new open-world title - Star Wars Outlaws. It will be set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi movies.

The title will feature a diverse open-world map, missions, and unique vehicles, much like Grand Theft Auto games. Thus, fans can give it a try to experience something similar, albeit in a futuristic, outer-space setting, while waiting for GTA 6's release.

2) Black Myth: Wukong

Release Date - August 20, 2024

Black Myth: Wukong is an action-packed RPG that explores Chinese mythology. Its visual effects are stunning and the fast-paced combat looks exhilarating and fun. Additionally, you will get to face off against very distinct adversaries in this title.

While Black Myth: Wukong's experience will be a lot different from GTA 6's gameplay, especially its combat and setting, its map will include detailed and diverse landscapes. This is similar to what some Grand Theft Auto titles, and likely even GTA 6, offer.

Release date - September 6, 2024

Though likely not as anticipated as Grand Theft Auto 6, quite a few are looking forward to Astro Bot's release in a couple of months time. It seems like a pretty enjoyable platformer that could offer a fun and relaxing time, like Astro's Playroom, contrary to Grand Theft Auto's grind.

Therefore, those bored of GTA 5 and Online can give Astro Bot a try once it releases to experience something very different, and possibly refreshing, while waiting for the GTA 6 release window.
