The year 2024 has been remarkably good for GTA Online players. Rockstar Games introduced many new things and made several quality-of-life improvements. While the multiplayer title is gradually moving toward the end of its life cycle — assuming most players will shift to GTA 6 upon release — the developer is still dedicated to making the gameplay experience better.

QoL improvements in GTA Online are usually introduced with the DLC updates. In 2024, the game received two major updates (so far) and one mid-tier update.

1) Missile Lock-On Jammer for various vehicles

The introduction of the Missile Lock-On Jammer for regular vehicles is undoubtedly one of the best QoL changes made to GTA Online this year. Earlier, the said feature was exclusive to Imani Tech vehicles, which prevent heat-seeking missiles from locking onto the vehicle.

Several of the Grand Theft Auto Online Agents of Sabotage DLC cars as well as older vehicles can now be equipped with the feature from the Agency Vehicle Workshop. This is a great feature if you prefer playing the game in crowded or public lobbies.

2) New Master Control Terminal

The Master Control Terminal is one of the game-changing features that allows business owners to operate and manage all their businesses from a single computer screen. Before the GTA Online December 2023 DLC, the Master Control Terminal was only available inside the Arcade business as an optional upgrade.

However, the latest GTA Online DLC introduced the same feature to the Benefactor Terrorbyte as well. Now, you can call the Master Control Terminal anywhere with the help of the vehicle. The feature allows you to source supplies for all of your owned businesses as well as sell products without visiting them physically.

3) New passive income sources

Rockstar Games introduced some great passive income sources in GTA Online this year. The Bottom Dollar Bounties DLC update added two Bail Enforcement Agents as well as a Safe Locker inside the Bottom Dollar Bail Office. The Agents of Sabotage DLC added another Safe Locker inside the Darnell Bros Garment Factory.

As the name implies, these income sources generate money in the background while you do other things in the multiplayer game. Since there are still some unreleased things from the Agents of Sabotage DLC, it wouldn't be surprising if more such features pop up in the future.

4) Collectibles Scanner

Finding collectibles in GTA Online is a tough job. Most such items are small and are scattered across the entire map. They do not even appear on the minimap. However, the Collectibles Scanner upgrade for the Benefactor Terrorbyte is a game changer for those who are serious about finding these souvenirs.

The feature makes the Terrorbyte start a radar that detects various collectible items in close proximity. This way, you can simply drive the vehicle around in GTA Online and directly go to the collectible item’s spot when it gets detected by the radar.

5) More solo-friendly missions

While GTA Online was originally intended to play with others, the community now prefers solo gameplay. As a result, Rockstar Games also keeps adding more solo-friendly things to do. This paradigm shift is a great QoL change as most of the major missions and heists before this used to require at least one more player to start.
