The GTA 6 trailer 2 is one of the biggest topics of discussion among Grand Theft Auto fans at the moment. It has now been over a year since the title's first trailer dropped, and Rockstar Games hasn't showcased anything new at all after that. In fact, the developer hasn't even hinted at when we can expect a fresh look at the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto sequel.

While some fans are still hopeful about getting a new trailer before the end of 2024, that, unfortunately, may not be the case. In this article, we will take a look at five reasons not to expect the GTA 6 trailer 2 this year.

Note - This article is subjective and only reflects the writer's opinions.

GTA 6 trailer 2: 5 reasons not to expect its release in 2024

1) Rockstar typically releases screenshots between the first two trailers

Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2) and Grand Theft Auto 5 are Rockstar Games' last two major releases. Both titles saw screenshots being released between their first and second trailers.

Now, Rockstar can use different marketing tactics for GTA 6, but based on previous patterns, if something new is to be showcased this year, then it could be screenshots rather than trailer 2.

2) The release window is still not quite close

Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 both released during the Fall, in their release years, but their second trailers had come out several months before that. For RDR2, this was over a year before its release. However, it should be noted that both titles were planned to be released during the Spring of their respective release years when their second trailers were released.

The currently planned GTA 6 release window is Fall 2025. So, while there has been a long period of silence, Rockstar isn't exactly off its usual patterns when it comes to releasing second trailers. This means that the GTA 6 trailer 2 could release a bit closer to the game's release window rather than now.

3) Too much has already been revealed

As far as official revelations are concerned, we only have a single trailer. However, a lot more has come into the public eye due to the September 2022 GTA 6 leaks.

Therefore, the developer might not release as many trailers as it usually does to keep things under wraps. While there still could be a GTA 6 trailer 2, it may arrive a bit closer to the title's release date.

4) Rockstar doesn't really need to market GTA 6

The upcoming Grand Theft Auto installment is possibly the most anticipated title of all time. It was a big topic of discussion among gamers even when the game hadn't officially been announced.

Just the anticipation from GTA 6 trailer 2 fan theories generated a lot of buzz on social media. In short, Rockstar Games doesn't really need to put in a lot of effort for its marketing, which is why we may not get a new trailer this year.

5) Could be announced close to the next Take-Two Interactive earnings call

The first GTA 6 trailer's arrival was announced hours before a Take-Two Interactive earnings call. For those unaware, Take-Two is Rockstar's parent company. Since then, fans have looked forward to these events in hopes of getting a GTA 6 trailer 2 announcement/reveal, but that hasn't happened so far.

However, the next Take-Two Interactive earnings call should take place in February 2025, based on previous patterns. This would be relatively closer to the title's release window than now, and Rockstar might be waiting for that period to announce/release GTA 6 trailer 2.

Readers should note that these are just speculations.
