The Widowmaker is one of the most popular big-league weapons in GTA Online. It is a futuristic plasma machine gun that has some unique characteristics. While it has been a part of Grand Theft Auto 5 since its release, Rockstar Games added it to the multiplayer game only in January 2019. Since then, players have been able to purchase it and store it in their inventory.

1) Unique design

The Widowmaker is one of the most distinctive-looking weapons in Grand Theft Auto Online. It has a curvy tube-shaped body with four nozzles at the front. The bulky design makes it easily spottable even from a distance. Rockstar Games also allows you to customize the body with the following seven colors:

• Space Ranger
• Purple
• Green
• Orange
• Pink
• Gold
• Platinum

These are bright shades of colors that give the Widowmaker in Grand Theft Auto Online its unique identity. Since it is an alien-tech weapon, you should also consider customizing your outfit to match the gun.

2) Can be acquired by anyone

The Widowmaker in GTA Online can be acquired by everyone, including low-level players. Rockstar Games did not impose any lock restrictions on the weapon, and therefore, it can even be purchased by a level one player (considering they have the money).

Rockstar Games charges $449,000 for the Widowmaker. The weapon was available on the Ammu-Nation Store earlier. However, as of 2025, you can acquire it only from the Agency Armory or the Gun Van.

If you don’t have the Agency Armory, find the Gun Van location and look at the inventory to find out whether the Windowmaker is available for that week.

3) Huge ammo capacity

The Widowmaker in GTA Online can hold up to 9999 bullets. It currently has the biggest ammo capacity in the multiplayer game, except for the weapons that do not require any refill.

While the Widowmaker shoots laser beams, Rockstar Games marks them as ammo. Once you refill the weapon to the fullest, you can use it for a while.

However, Grand Theft Auto Online players should keep in mind that the fire rate of the Widowmaker is very fast. Therefore, if you keep shooting it without any purpose, you may run out of ammo very soon.

The Widowmaker in GTA Online requires no reloading. You can empty the entire set of 9999 bullets in one go. This allows you to unleash your wrath on a big group of enemies without stopping for anything.
