The LEGO Fortnite’s official X handle (X/@LEGOFortnite) recently shared a GTA 6-inspired image and took fans of both franchises into a frenzy. Despite Grand Theft Auto fans’ repeated urges, Rockstar Games has been silent on anything related to the upcoming title for over a year now. However, LEGO Fortnite took the opportunity to tickle the GTA fans with some humor.
This article discusses five similarities between LEGO Fortnite's post and Rockstar's official artwork.

5 noticeable resemblances between GTA 6’s artwork and LEGO Fortnite's recent post
1) Similar character representation
The very first thing you notice in the LEGO Fortnite post is that it has a similar character representation to GTA 6. The image showed Beach Jules and Adventure Peely from the LEGO Fortnite universe. Rockstar’s artwork also showed Lucia and a male character, believed to be Jason from the leaks.
Nonetheless, LEGO Fortnite’s Grand Theft Auto 6 post certainly caught fans’ attention because of this similarity. The game franchise also used a vehicle along with the characters similar to Rockstar’s official artwork. Needless to say, it is a cleaver dig at the Grand Theft Auto series.
2) Similar dramatic poses
While the characters already denote that LEGO Fortnite's post is a dig at GTA 6, the image also used dramatic poses loosely based on Lucia and Jason’s pose. Rockstar Games’ official image showed the upcoming protagonists giving a dramatic pose in front of the Cheval Picador (car name yet to be confirmed).
LEGO Fortnite also used the same technique with slight variations. In the latest image, Beach Jules was seen leaning beside the car instead of sitting on the hood, completely covering the right door panel. One interesting thing to note is that Rockstar’s image had some bullet holes in that particular door, which led to many interesting Grand Theft Auto 6 fan theories.
3) Similar background
Both images also had a similar background. It goes without saying that Rockstar Games’ version is the original one here showing what is believed to be the Ocean Drive of HD Universe. It had the Atlantis Hotel and many other buildings, very similar to the Ocean Drive from GTA Vice City. The use of this background is seemingly a part of the Grand Theft Auto 6 marketing strategy.
While LEGO Fortnite has no direct relation with this type of background, the image included it as a reference to the upcoming game. Both LEGO Fortnite characters were standing in front of a cafe giving hard poses for the camera.
4) Similar color tones
Both images had a similar color tone with pink, orange, and purple as the dominating colors. Veteran video gamers may remember that these color tones are frequently associated with Vice City, Rockstar’s version of Miami, Florida.
The image shared by LEGO Fortnite’s official profile also had the same color tones to resemble as close to Rockstar’s official post. It is worth noting that the latter studio used the same colors in the announcement poster for the first trailer. It has become a signature style of the GTA 6 promotional techniques.
5) Similar retro vibes
Rockstar Games’ Vice City is known for its retro vibes from the 80s. The same is also expected in GTA 6 considering the official artwork featured some retro aesthetics. Even though the LEGO Fortnite gameplay is far from this vibe, the image shared by them clearly depicted it.
The sunset preset and the colour tones give out a retro vibe alluding to the Grand Theft Auto fans. As a result, video game fans immediately recognized that LEGO Fortnite’s recent post was inspired by GTA 6.
