With the start of the new year, GTA Online players are also enjoying the game with festive offers and bonuses from Rockstar Games. While the community is eagerly awaiting GTA 6-related news this year, the current multiplayer game will continue to thrive for the upcoming period. Although fairly easy to play, there are certain mistakes that both new and experienced players make.
This article lists and briefly discusses five things that all GTA Online players should avoid in 2025.

Five mistakes that should be avoided in GTA Online in 2025
1) Modding and hacking
Rockstar Games is very strict about its projects, especially the multiplayer games. While you can use mods and hacks in all its single-player titles, you should not use them in multiplayer titles. GTA Online is one of Rockstar Games’ crown jewels and the studio takes its usage very seriously.
Rockstar recently increased the punishment for using mods and hacks in Grand Theft Auto Online. You can get easily banned and your progress deleted if the studio detects any third-party cheating software in your game. Therefore, players are advised to enjoy the multiplayer game as it is.
2) Trying random money glitches
Similar to modding and hacking, Rockstar Games is also very strict regarding money glitches in GTA Online. The studio tracks every player’s activities and if you get caught exploiting money glitches, you can get severe punishments such as a soft ban or account deletion.
The multiplayer game has various earning sources, and you should only use them to make in-game money. The money glitches you see on the internet require performing various shady things. Most of them do not even work; instead, they put you right under Rockstar’s watch. Therefore, you should avoid money glitches in 2025.
3) Buying everything the game has to offer
Rockstar Games offers a plethora of things that you can buy in the multiplayer game. However, a solo player does not need most of them. Whether you want to celebrate New Year’s Day in GTA Online or play the game casually, you should spend money on only the things that you need.
The in-game economy is very bad and most of the purchasable things are extremely expensive. Therefore, players are advised to do proper research before spending money on anything. While things may appear interesting, they may not suit your gameplay style.
4) Trusting random players with important missions
Relying on strangers for important missions is one of the severe mistakes many players make in the multiplayer game. Even though some random players can turn out to be surprisingly good, most of the time it is the opposite.
Therefore, whether you try the best money-making methods in GTA Online or sell business goods, you should do it solo as far as possible. Inexperienced random players can screw up your progress and cause you to retry the same thing over and over.
5) Ignoring limited-time offers and challenges
Rockstar Games releases limited-time offers and challenges very often in the multiplayer game and players should not miss out on them. The holiday season in GTA Online is currently in full swing and there are many lucrative offers and limited-time challenges taking place.
If you have not tried them yet, we suggest you log into Grand Theft Auto Online and check out the celebratory things as soon as possible. A new weekly update is subject to arrive on January 2, 2025, and Rockstar Games may discontinue the festive offers moving forward. Therefore, players should not make the mistake of ignoring limited offers.
