5 things not to expect from GTA Online Summer Update 2024

The GTA Online Summer Update 2024 is currently one of the most speculated releases within the community and expectations from Rockstar Games are soaring high. The official reveal of Grand Theft Auto 6 has added fuel to the speculations, as the studio is known for promoting its future projects via multiplayer games. However, the expectations also have a limit of reality, which may be upsetting for some fans later.

This article lists five such things that you should not expect from the upcoming GTA Online Summer Update 2024.

Five things that should not be expected from the GTA Online Summer Update 2024

1) GTA 6 promotions

The GTA Online Summer Update 2024 may not include any promotional events for GTA 6. Rockstar Games has only released one trailer so far and many other promotional activities are yet to come. Therefore, expecting the upcoming title's promotion in the multiplayer game now is a bold dream.

However, one can expect this thing to happen if Rockstar releases the second GTA 6 trailer before the GTA Online Summer Update 2024.

2) New businesses

Rockstar Games is historically known for adding new business to Grand Theft Auto Online during the winter DLCs. The Salvage Yard, Acid Lab, Celebrity Solutions Agency, etc. were added during the past winter DLCs. Although some of the best GTA Online businesses have been added in the summer DLCs as well, it is unlikely in the current scenario.

Therefore, fans should not expect to see a new business with the upcoming GTA Online Summer Update 2024. However, new modifications to the currently available businesses are always a possibility.

3) Purchasable mansions

Purchasable mansions are among some of the most popular items thats fans want from Grand Theft Auto Online updates. However, Rockstar Games adding mansions to the game is highly unlikely in the future as well. The main reason behind it is the size of the State of San Andreas.

Compared to the player base, the GTA Online map is small and it is getting more cluttered with each update. Since multiple players owning the same mansion (similar to the apartments) might seem unrealistic, Rockstar Games may not add purchasable mansions to the GTA Online Summer Update 2024.

4) New map expansions

While a new map expansion could be an interesting thing to look forward to in the GTA Online Summer Update 2024, it is very unlikely to happen. Rockstar Games expanded the Grand Theft Auto Online map only once with The Cayo Perico Heist DLC.

However, since the multiplayer game is now approaching the end of its lifespan, Rockstar Games is unlikely to work on a new map expansion. Moreover, the majority of Rockstar’s developers are focused on Grand Theft Auto 6. Therefore, a new map for a decade-old game should be out of the question.

5) End of Grand Theft Auto Online

For the last few years, the community has been anticipating that Rockstar Games will stop releasing new updates for Grand Theft Auto Online after one last major update. The upcoming GTA Online Summer Update 2024 is also not out of the question. However, both the studio and Take-Two Interactive have assured the fans that the multiplayer game would get regular updates for some more time.

Therefore, fans should not expect the multiplayer game to end after the next GTA Online DLC and look forward to more exciting updates in the future. However, one can expect the future updates to be smaller than the next one.
