Grand Theft Auto fans will soon get to revisit Vice City in the GTA 6 map. The iconic Miami-based setting is best remembered from Rockstar Games' beloved 2002 title, GTA Vice City, and there is quite a bit of excitement around its return. However, it should be noted that Vice City's upcoming rendition could be very different from its OG version due to the sequel being set in a separate universe.

This was also seen with Los Santos' renditions in GTA San Andreas and GTA 5. Nevertheless, Rockstar should consider not changing the following five things in the GTA 6 map from the OG Vice City map.

Note: This article is subjective and only reflects the writer's opinions.

Vercetti Estate and 4 other things the GTA 6 map shouldn't change from the OG Vice City map

1) Ocean View Hotel

Grove Street is one of the most popular locations on GTA San Andreas' map and it returned in GTA 5, albeit with many changes. The Ocean View Hotel is another popular location in the series that appeared in the OG Vice City map and has seemingly been spotted in the first GTA 6 trailer as well.

It cannot be confirmed if the Ocean View Hotel has undergone any major visual changes since it wasn't visible very clearly in the trailer. However, it would be better if Rockstar left it unchanged as this was the GTA Vice City protagonist Tommy Vercetti's first-ever safehouse and is deeply revered by fans.

2) Scarface apartment

The 1980s cult classic, Scarface, is among the inspirations behind GTA Vice City. In fact, Rockstar Games even included an apartment from the movie as an easter egg in the OG Vice City map.

That was a small, but neat addition, and since the GTA 6 map is returning to Vice City, it would be quite cool if players get to explore that apartment again. The ability to acquire a chainsaw from the same spot as the 2002 game would be a cherry on the cake.

3) Vercetti Estate

Speaking of Scarface, another reference to the classic in the OG Vice City comes in the form of Vercetti Estate, Tommy's sprawling mansion on Starfish Island, whose interiors match that of Tony Montana's mansion from the movie to a great extent.

If Vercetti Estate returns to the GTA 6 map, it should be in its original avatar. That would not only be a nice tribute to Scarface but also Tommy Vercetti, a fan-favorite and one of the best GTA protagonists ever.

4) Varied purchasable safehouses

Apart from iconic locations, there are certain characteristics of the OG Vice City map that should be carried over to the GTA 6 map. Among those are the types of safehouses players can purchase.

Besides apartments, which are common in Grand Theft Auto games, the OG Vice City map also offered safehouses like El Swanko Casa (a mansion) and the Hyman Condo. It would be interesting if players get to own such properties in GTA 6, especially if they also have detailed and distinct interiors.

5) How it unlocked progressively

Parts of the OG Vice City map get unlocked as players progress further in the campaign. This used to be a classic trait in Grand Theft Auto games, but was, sadly, ditched in GTA 5 with players having the entire map to explore right off the bat.

While it isn't all bad, having the map unlock progressively by completing missions felt rewarding. Thus, Rockstar Games should consider implementing this system with the GTA 6 map again.
