GTA Online has been entertaining fans of the franchise for the last 10 years, but a sequel is now on the horizon. This means Rockstar Games might stop supporting the title once Grand Theft Auto 6 comes out. Nevertheless, players might expect a few additions before GTA 6 comes out, but it is best to keep their expectations in check.
In this article, we will take a look at five things we probably wouldn't see in GTA Online.

Ranked lobbies and other things we probably wouldn't see in GTA Online
1) Crossplay
Crossplay is becoming a pretty common feature in modern multiplayer titles but has sadly been absent from one of the biggest names in the genre - Grand Theft Auto Online. Despite multiple re-releases on modern consoles, Rockstar hasn't included the option for users on different platforms to play together.
At this stage, it is very unlikely that crossplay would be added to it. Crossplay might be included in Grand Theft Auto 6's multiplayer, given how much the fanbase has demanded it, but that remains to be seen. In fact, the upcoming title's multiplayer is officially unconfirmed at the moment.
2) Map expansion
Map expansion is another long-demanded addition that hasn't happened so far. A new city in the map of Los Santos and Blaine County would've brought a lot of freshness, and while GTA Online features the Cayo Perico island, it isn't available to explore in free mode like the rest of the map.
The addition of such a feature seems unlikely now, with Rockstar focusing on the final stages of Grand Theft Auto 6's development.
3) Ranked lobbies
The absence of a ranked lobby system means GTA Online beginners can be put in the same session as players on very high levels. Needless to say, beginners can find such players very hard to counter in PvP, and their experience can be ruined further if they encounter any high-ranked griefers.
Ranked lobbies could have solved this problem to a great extent, but again, this seems like a feature that might be added to Grand Theft Auto 6 now instead of a 10-year-old game.
4) The option to sell properties
Apartments, clothes, cars, weapons, and properties of GTA Online businesses are some of the things that you can buy in this game. However, only cars can be sold if you ever want a fraction of the money spent. Exactly why players have been restricted from selling other owned items is anyone's guess. It would've made for a decent way to gather some funds when a certain commodity was no longer required.
The player base also wants such an option to be added, but nothing hints at the possibility of that happening. Grinding the same old jobs, heists, and GTA Online weekly update bonuses remain the only ways to make money in the game.
5) Listening to music on foot
Music is one of the best parts of Grand Theft Auto games, and the case isn't any different for Grand Theft Auto 5 and Online. Their radio plays some great tracks, but players are only able to enjoy them when in a vehicle. Modern open-world titles like Watch Dogs 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 let users listen to music on foot, but Grand Theft Auto has yet to do that.
The addition of such a feature would be a first in the series, which is why it would make more sense for it to debut in Grand Theft Auto 6 rather than in GTA Online.
While these additions to Grand Theft Auto Online currently seem unlikely, readers must note that this article is purely speculative and they could still end up being added to the game.
