The Declasse Impaler LX has been a part of GTA Online since December 2023, and it is still widely popular within the motorhead community. It is a four-seater car inspired by the real-life sixth-generation Chevrolet Impala. You can also spot some influences from the 1987–1990 Chevrolet Caprice and 1978–1979 Oldsmobile 88.
However, there are many more things that you should know about the vehicle. This article lists five notable things that GTA Online players should know about the Declasse Impaler LX.
Note: Some parts of this article are subjective and only reflect the writer’s opinions. The list is not in any order.
5 interesting things to know about Declasse Impaler LX in GTA Online
1) A budget-friendly option
Despite being a relatively new car, the Declasse Impaler LX is a budget-friendly option that you can acquire in GTA Online. Rockstar Games listed it on the Southern San Andreas Super Autos website for a fixed base price of $1,465,000.
Keep in mind that most other cars in recent years cost between $2,000,000 and $3,000,000. Considering that, the Impaler LX muscle car is a low-cost option that even low-level Grand Theft Auto Online players can acquire with a little grind.
2) Highly customizable
The Declasse Impaler LX may look like a simple and classic car, but Rockstar Games added a plethora of modern customizations to it. Despite lacking HSW, Imani Tech, and Benny’s upgrades, the regular customizations of the car are top-notch and eye-catching.
Rockstar Games offers 12 front bumpers, 10 rear bumpers, seven exhaust pipes, 11 grilles, 14 hoods, 10 liveries, 14 mirrors, five roofs, 13 liveries, and many other options. If you are a car customization enthusiast, the Declasse Impaler LX is not something to avoid in GTA Online.
3) Impressive performance output
The Declasse Impaler LX is surprisingly capable in terms of performance. The car has a considerably quick acceleration and reaches its top speed very fast. When fully upgraded, you can cruise in the car at a top speed of 115.50 mph or 185.88 km/h.
The Impaler LX has a four-speed transmission and a rear-wheel drive layout. While the brakes are slightly weak, the handling is pretty good, and you can easily maneuver the car. The vehicle’s performance output is better than some of the free cars in GTA Online.
4) It also has a police variant
Rockstar Games also offers a police variant of the Impaler LX named the Declasse Impaler LX Cruiser. It was released in July 2024 as part of the GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties DLC. While both are the same at their core, the police variant has some special features and customizations.
Keep in mind that the Impaler LX Cruiser is also costlier ($4,800,000) than the base model. Therefore, if you are on a tight budget, you should stick to the Impaler LX only.
5) Can be used for amateur drifting
Even though Rockstar Games does not offer the Drift Tuning modification for the Declasse Impaler LX in GTA Online, you can equip it with ‘Low Grip Tires’ from the Los Santos Car Meet garage.
This customization, combined with the ‘Competition Suspension’ can make the car slide more while turning. If you find the Drift Tuning Modification too difficult, you can practice and improve your drifting skills with the Impaler LX. Drifting is one of the main reasons to play GTA Online in 2025.
