The excitement around GTA 6 is arguably far superior than that of any other title in the Grand Theft Auto series. However, if Rockstar Games wishes to cement its next release as the biggest entry in the series ever, it has to improve certain features and gameplay mechanics. Some of the things showcased in the title's leaked development footage look quite promising, but they are yet to be confirmed.

These additions might be revealed officially in the next trailer, but that doesn't seem to be arriving anytime soon. Until then, let's take a look at five things that could make GTA 6 far superior than any other title in the series.

1) Unique interiors

Per Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto 6 will mark the biggest and most immersive evolution of the series so far. Although unconfirmed, GTA 6 leaks suggested that the title might feature a lot of accessible interiors. This, if true, would be a much needed improvement over its predecessor. However, the developer could take things a step further by making all interiors unique.

This means that each restaurant, shop, or apartment should look different from one another. It is a highly ambitious concept, but not beyond the capabilities of a studio like Rockstar.

2) Improved vehicle damage

Vehicle damage has been underwhelming in most of the GTA series' titles, especially in Grand Theft Auto 5. It is immersion-breaking when a car is perfectly drivable even after ramming into a wall at top speed. While having your vehicle ripped apart after just a few collisions would understandably be annoying, that should happen in situations like extreme crashes.

The vehicles in GTA 6 don't need to take damage akin to something like BeamNG.drive, but Rockstar could at least take a little inspiration from it.

3) A gradually expanding map

The GTA 6 map would already be far superior than that of other titles in the series if it features multiple major cities with lots of activities, interiors, and detail. Modern technology could also give it an edge over Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, which features three big cities in Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas.

This, however, can be taken a step further by having the map expand gradually over time with online or single-player DLCs. Some of these expansions could be minor, affecting certain existing areas and completing under-construction buildings, whereas others could add entirely new towns or cities.

4) Realistic NPCs

Crafting impressive, life-like NPCs is crucial towards selling an open world as a believable environment. If there is any game that needs to deliver here, it is Grand Theft Auto 6.

Rockstar has shown its talent in this department in the past. Red Dead Redemption 2 features NPCs with remarkable AI, daily routines, and dynamic interactibality. Replicating this and improving a bit in a modern Grand Theft Auto setting has the potential to be a lot more fun.

5) The dynamic between Lucia and her partner

The Grand Theft Auto series has seen some great protagonists so far, and GTA 6's Lucia and her partner (allegedly named Jason) could add their name to that list if things go right.

The fact that the two are seemingly in a romantic relationship could make them stand out. The series has never focused on such a dynamic between its protagonists, and Rockstar, at its creative best, could deliver something very unique and special here.

If that happens and players connect with these characters, Grand Theft Auto 6 could easily become far superior to its peers.
