The GTA Online experience has gone through various trials and errors during the past ten years. While it started as a simple multiplayer version of Grand Theft Auto 5, it has now become a standalone title. Rockstar Games made a plethora of changes to the game during this period. While some of them were highly praised by the player base, some attracted criticism from fans.

This article lists five things that Rockstar should not add to the GTA Online experience ever again.

Note: This article is subjective and only reflects the writer’s opinions. The listings are not in any order.

Five things that Rockstar Games should not return to GTA Online

1) Flying cars and bikes

Many fans often complain that Rockstar Games ruined the multiplayer experience by adding some of the craziest vehicles in GTA Online such as the Oppressor bikes and the Deluxo car. While Grand Theft Auto Online is centered around vehicles, it also focuses on realism. The flying cars and bikes equipped with deadly weapons drag the game away from realism.

Therefore, no such vehicles should be added to the game again. The latest vehicle in this category was the Pegassi Oppressor Mk II, which was released in August 2018. It is a good sign that Rockstar hasn’t added any more such kinds of vehicles to date. These vehicles are a menace to other players and create heavy gameplay imbalances.

2) Limited-time vehicles

Rockstar released several limited-time vehicles in GTA Online in 2023. While new vehicles usually stay in the in-game stores, many vehicles from the last year were removed only a few days after their release. The player base alleged that the studio was doing this to create the fear of missing out among fans and forcing them to buy the newest available vehicle.

Fortunately, the GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties DLC did not follow this path. Rockstar Games should not resort to the limited-time vehicle concept again as it ruins the gameplay experience. Fans love driving new cars in the game and they should be available to acquire all the time.

3) Vehicles getting permanently removed

2023 was also the year when Rockstar Games removed hundreds of vehicles permanently. The GTA Online removed cars list is huge and these vehicles are still unavailable for purchase. Even though the studio sometimes adds some of the removed cars to acquire, they are not added permanently.

Many vehicle enthusiasts are already upset about Rockstar for removing their favorite cars. Moreover, temporarily adding them behind a paywall also angers the player base. Therefore, the studio should never re-implement this idea again in the multiplayer game.

4) Non-solo-friendly content

The Grand Theft Auto series has always been a solo experience until the release of GTA Online. In the early days of the multiplayer game, fans used to play together as there was a limited number of activities and griefing was almost non-existent. However, the latter gradually increased and players started to glitch their games to play solo.

But, most of the missions from that era still require multiple players to participate. Thankfully, Rockstar already started to address this issue by adding solo-friendly missions and heists. Since GTA Online still has a few more years to run before its ultimate showdown, the studio should not change the solo-friendly content idea.

5) Sharpshooter NPCs

The NPCs in GTA Online have unrealistic gun skills where they can kill you from miles away. This mechanism is very problematic, especially for new players and for those who do not use auto-aim.

Even if you use the best Mk II weapons in Grand Theft Auto Online, the sharpshooter NPCs can easily kill you. The Summer 2024 DLC seemed to have fixed the issue to an extent. However, Rockstar should re-calibrate the shooting skills of NPCs.
