GTA 6 will take players back to Vice City, Grand Theft Auto's iconic Miami-based setting. This is why fans expect some items from GTA Vice City to return in the upcoming installment. Rockstar Games might have some cars return or include tributes to the title or its characters. However, the developer should also bring back some weapons from the classic 2002 title.
Needless to say, getting to use some GTA Vice City weapons in a modernized iteration of Vice City would be quite the treat for long-term fans. Here are five weapons from Grand Theft Auto Vice City that GTA 6 should have from day one.
Note - This article is subjective and solely reflects the writer's opinions. None of the weapons mentioned here have been confirmed to return in GTA 6 yet.
Chainsaw and other weapons from GTA Vice City that GTA 6 should have from day 1
1) M60
The M60 is a heavy machine gun that has only been a part of GTA Vice City and Liberty City Stories. It is incredibly powerful and highly effective against vehicles, capable of blowing them up within seconds, quite like the famed Minigun.
The M60 does have a slower firing rate in comparison, but that doesn't hold it back too much. It goes without saying that these attributes, combined with a prolonged absence from the series, build a case for the weapon's return in GTA 6.
2) Ingram Mac 10
The Ingram Mac 10 is a handy submachine gun in GTA Vice City. It could act as a fun alternative to other popular firearms from its class, such as the SMG or the Uzi, which have appeared under different names in recent Grand Theft Auto games.
In fact, the Ingram Mac 10 might emerge as a great choice for performing drive-bys with cars in GTA 6, as that is a vital part of Grand Theft Auto's high-octane gameplay.
3) Chainsaw
The Chainsaw hasn't been featured in the Grand Theft Auto series for a long time. It is an instrument of absolute chaos, and since it is a fan favorite, Rockstar Games should really consider having it return to the franchise.
Interestingly, the Chainsaw's inclusion in the upcoming title was seemingly hinted at by a leak but is yet to be officially confirmed. Information about it might be revealed in GTA 6 trailer 2, which is expected to arrive later this year.
4) Flamethrower
Speaking of chaos, the Flamethrower is another classic GTA weapon. It was featured in GTA Vice City and a few other Grand Theft Auto titles. However, it hasn't been a part of the more recent mainstream installments.
Therefore, having it return would give Grand Theft Auto fans a familiar tool to use when they wreck havoc on the streets of Vice City once again.
5) Kruger
The Kruger is a type of assault rifle in GTA Vice City. Its design, seemingly inspired by the Ruger Mini-14F in real life, and distinct rough sound from the 2002 game make it stand out from other weapons in its class.
Needless to say, the Kruger could emerge as a popular choice for intense GTA 6 story mode missions if it gets added to the game. It would also provide a breath of fresh air in this weapon class since its peers, like the Carbine Rifle (M4 in GTA Vice City) and the AK-47-based assault rifle, have been in multiple Grand Theft Auto games.
