Red Dead Redemption 2 remains a great source of inspiration for GTA 6 fans and many expect Rockstar Games to include some of its features in the upcoming title. Recently, a Redditor named Dry-Hall-794 (u/Dry-Hall-794) asked the r/GTA6 community if they would prefer cinematic black bars for cutscenes in the upcoming video game.

“Cinematic black bars for cutscenes? I could do without them personally.”

It is worth noting that Rockstar Games used black bars in Red Dead Redemption 2 which gave the cutscenes a unique cinematic look. While the entire game can be played in full screen, the cutscenes seamlessly transition into a movie-like presentation.

While the idea sounded intriguing, a Redditor named ThatGuyFromReddit69 (u/Due-Individual-3042) shared an interesting behind-the-scenes detail from Red Dead Redemption 2.

Readers should take the information with a grain of salt as an official source for the claim is yet to be found. Nonetheless, another user named Shengpai (u/Shengpai) stated why having the RDR 2 feature in Grand Theft Auto 6 would not fit the context:

“It gives, "old vibes" which really fits RDR 2 but hopefully not in GTA VI.”

Redditor MindAvailable6263 (u/MindAvailable6263) preferred Grand Theft Auto 5-like cutscenes in GTA 6:

“yeah idk I think they'd feel out of place, but I did really like the handheld camera in a lot of the GTA 5 cutscenes, I hope they keep that.”

Many other GTA 6 fans also discarded the idea of having black bars for cutscenes:

However, some fans, including Reythemellow (u/Reythemellow), wanted Rockstar Games to add a toggle option for the RDR 2-inspired feature in Grand Theft Auto 6:

“I'm alright with this if there's a toggle option that makes it optional.”

One interesting thing to note is that the first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer included many possible cutscenes. The entire video showed a standard 16:9 aspect ratio, except for the social media clips.

How big will the GTA 6 map be?

The GTA 6 map is expected to be twice the size of the State of San Andreas from Grand Theft Auto 5. While Rockstar Games has yet to officially reveal the new open world, the Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks and the first trailer provided the map-building community with enough details to compose a layout.

Many fans also expect the State of Leonida to be bigger and more diverse than the map of Red Dead Redemption 2. However, we’ll have to wait for the final release date to know the exact details.
