GTA 5 is one of Rockstar Games' best works ever. Although released over a decade ago in 2013, it is still the best-selling entry in the series by a significant margin, and a lot of that has to do with what the game offers in terms of gameplay. However, certain moments, showcased in story mode cutscenes, have also contributed to making this title a fan favorite, which fans often talk about on social media.

Needless to say, GTA 6 is expected to include such moments in its story mode as well, but the sequel's release is still quite far away. Until then, let's take a look at five fan-favorite cutscenes in GTA 5 story mode in 2024.

Note - Some story mode spoilers will be mentioned in this article

Lamar's monologue and 4 other fan-favorite cutscenes in GTA 5 story mode (2024)

1) Trevor blows up the O'Neil Ranch farmhouse

Trevor Philips is undoubtedly the most chaotic protagonist in the GTA series, and because of that, he has been involved in some iconic cutscenes. One particular fan-favorite from those is featured in the Crystal Maze mission, wherein Trevor blows up the O'Neil Ranch farmhouse.

In an effort to eliminate competition for Trevor Philips Industries, the protagonist infiltrates the O'Neil Ranch, gets rid of all resistance, destroys their meth lab, sets fire to the farmhouse, and walks away with his back turned to the explosion in a Hollywood-esque moment.

2) Molly Schultz's death

Devin Weston, the main antagonist in GTA 5 story mode, is a constant trouble for the game's three protagonists - Michael, Trevor, and Franklin. In one instance, he's out to have Michael's movie shelved, to which the protagonist obviously objects.

Nevertheless, Devin's lawyer, Molly Schultz, who herself isn't exactly a likable character, takes the film's print and leaves for her jet. Michael chases her throughout Los Santos, all the way to a hangar, and right as she rushes to get inside the plane, its engine sucks her in.

3) Lamar's monologue

Lamar Davis is among the best things about GTA 5 and he establishes himself as a fan-favorite pretty early on in the campaign. This is done through a cutscene in which the character berates his best friend and story-mode protagonist Franklin upon being denied entry to the latter's home.

The non-stop insults in the form of a monologue are hilarious to witness and make for one of the most fan-favorite cutscenes in the game. In fact, it has even been recreated in real life by the voice actors of these two GTA characters.

4) Trevor kidnaps Martin Madrazo's wife

As already mentioned, Trevor is involved in quite a few fan-favorite cutscenes in GTA 5 story mode. The one in question here features him arguing with Michael about not receiving a fair day's pay from Martin Madrazo, a feared drug lord in Los Santos.

Michael anxiously inquires if Trevor killed Madrazo for that. Trevor denies this but then reveals having kidnapped Madrazo's wife instead. The situation is already quite funny, given Trevor's unpredictability, but Michael's frantic reactions make it even better.

5) Trevor reunites with Michael

GTA 5 story mode's prologue features Michael and Trevor carrying out a bank heist that goes south. The latter manages to escape the cops but is under the impression that the former is dead.

In reality, Michael struck a deal with the FIB, changed his identity, and moved to Los Santos with his family. Many years later, Trevor gets a hint of him being alive, barges into the suspected house, and finds "dead" best fried alive and well.

Their relationship goes through a lot of ups and downs in the game and makes for some great moments. However, Michael and Trevor seeing each other for the first time in several years is a fan-favorite moment from GTA 5.
