GTA 5 actor may have hinted at a 2025-2026 release for GTA 6: All you need to know

American actor Johnny Ray Gill might have hinted at a 2025-2026 GTA 6 release date in a recent interview (dated December 13, 2024). According to his IMDb page, he has worked on two big Rockstar Games titles, albeit not in very significant roles. During the interview, Gill briefly talked about his experience working on GTA 5, and then urged the interviewer to stay on the lookout for something that may be coming out in 2025 or 2026.

The actor didn't mention Grand Theft Auto 6. However, since the title is supposed to be released during fall 2025 (as per Rockstar's parent company, Take-Two Interactive), our assumptions are focused in that direction.

Johnny Ray Gill was recently interviewed on a YouTube channel named Check It TV, during which he was asked about working on Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. The actor, who voiced pedestrians in both Rockstar titles, said this in response to the question:

"Grand Theft Auto was crazy, um yeah man, I think I was earlier in my career and so you just, they put the little helmet on you, and they're filming you, and you're doing multiple voices, you know of different characters and stuff like that"

Gill then added:

"I will say this, stay on the lookout, you know I can't say anything, but there's another situation happening, you know, in that world that may be coming out in 2025, 2026 that I'm really happy about"

The interviewer interjected by mentioning GTA 6, but Johnny Ray Gill didn't confirm anything or name the title itself.

"I mean I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, stay tuned"

As mentioned, it is being assumed that the actor might be talking about the next Grand Theft Auto installment, as it is currently planned for a fall 2025 launch. However, some fans are worried about a possible delay, as nothing new has been revealed in over a year since the first trailer, and both GTA 5 as well as Red Dead Redemption 2 were delayed too.

As of this writing, there have been no announcements from Rockstar or Take-Two regarding a delay. Some may point towards Johnny Ray Gill mentioning 2026 in the interview, but it should be noted that he never directly named Grand Theft Auto 6 here. Even if we assume he was hinting at it, he might just be mentioning a vague release window.

In short, officially, GTA 6 is still supposed to be released during fall 2025.
