Modding has come a long way in the Grand Theft Auto series, as we now have completely game-changing mods like the GTA 5 VR mod. As expected, this allows VR gameplay for Grand Theft Auto 5, which brings a whole new level of immersion to the game and lets you experience Los Santos in a whole new way.

Now, a Grand Theft Auto player recently showcased how they've been using the GTA 5 VR mod in conjunction with NaturalVision Remastered, a stunning graphics mod, and the result is spectacular.

As we can see in the above embed, Twitter user KOKORO (@CkYLee) highlights how beautiful Los Santos can look during a thunderstorm with NaturalVision Remastered installed. The whole experience is made way more immersive with the GTA 5 VR mod. The OP is seen in Vinewood Boulevard, near the Vinewood Walk of Fame. They walk for a bit and then take off in a cabriolet, which is most likely the Benefactor Surano.

The GTA 5 VR mod used for this clip is the R.E.A.L. VR mod made by modder Luke Ross. The mod author has created paid VR mods for many games on his Patreon, including Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto 5. However, you won't be able to get the GTA 5 VR mod anymore, or even the RDR2 one as Take-Two issued a DMCA notice to Luke Ross.

Take-Two has developed quite a reputation among fans for their witchhunt against Grand Theft Auto mods. They've issued DMCA notices to some major mod projects, like GTA Underground, and this has led to some animosity between them and the fan community.

In return, there has been no indication of an official VR port for Grand Theft Auto 5, so it's unclear why Take-Two wanted to pull down the VR mod.

On the other hand, NaturalVision Remastered is a graphical overhaul for Grand Theft Auto 5 that upgrades the visuals of the game in a subtle but exquisite manner. It aims to make the game look much more realistic so that the 11-year-old game feels brand new even in 2024. The description reads:

"NaturalVision Remastered (NVR) is a visual overhaul mod. Numerous changes were made to the environmental weathers, lighting system, ambient colors, tonemapping, weapons system, select textures and much more in order to blur the line between fantasy and reality."

This graphics mod is made by Razed Mods and it's free to download. An alternative to this is the NaturalVision Evolved, which is a work-in-progress version of the same mod, with some subtle differences. There's a beta version of the mod available for download, but the latest updates are available to the modder's Patreon subscribers.
