There have been rumors about GTA 6 having an official Rockstar Creator Platform, which would allow fans to make user-generated content (UGC) or mods for the game with support from Rockstar Games themselves. According to some members of the fan community, this official platform could be akin to Bethesda's Game Studios Creations, which used to be popularly known as Creation Club.

This could open up the possibility of official paid mods in GTA 6. It would also explain why Rockstar bought Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM, as fan-made custom roleplaying servers can be officially integrated into the game. However, this is all speculation, and fans should take this with a grain of salt.

Nevertheless, here are some interesting details about how GTA 6 can have an official Rockstar Creator Platform, as discussed by the fan community.

Back in April of this year, Grand Theft Auto YouTuber KrisBN, with help from a Discord user (named "newschoolrap1337" at the time), uncovered some interesting details that apparently hint at GTA 6 getting an official Rockstar Creator Platform. The popular YouTuber, with info from the aforementioned Discord user, revealed that Tom Young and Ethan Hirsch, two developers at Rockstar Games, have been developing a Creator Platform since January 2024.

He stated that several insiders believe this could be meant for user-generated content in GTA 6. Tom Young is listed as a Product Lead at Rockstar Games whereas Ethan Hirsch is the Senior Director of a Creator Platform at the company, as per their LinkedIn profiles. The alleged insiders also think that this might be why Rockstar bought Cfx.re in the first place, and that FiveM is being rebranded as Rockstar Creator Platform.

Now, FiveM allows for user-generated content, and most roleplaying servers are essentially UGC. Rockstar also had some job listings which mentioned user-generated content as well as FiveM, and this caught the attention of some fans. One of this is the post of a Software Engineer (.NET/C#), Services, at Rockstar New England, while the other is for Senior Software Engineer, Services, FiveM, at Rockstar London.

Tez2, a renowned Grand Theft Auto insider, shared his own views regarding an official Rockstar Creator Platform in GTA 6. According to him, the developers will follow Bethesda and develop something akin to Game Studios Creations, as mentioned before. He believes that this will expand the user base and also attract the Grand Theft Auto RP (roleplaying) fans, which Take-Two will naturally want to take.

Tez2 further added that Take-Two will likely monetize a modding platform and even make GTA+ more lucrative by making the mods on this platform free with this subscription service. He further added that Rockstar may only release mod tools for their verified creators, as Sony has several restrictions on console modding.

While it's true that a Creator Platform has been mentioned on LinkedIn, it's connection to GTA 6 can't be proved yet. As such, fans shouldn't take any of these rumors too seriously yet.
