A new GTA San Andreas source code leak has reportedly surfaced on the internet, possibly containing sensitive information that is not meant for public viewing. However, one can wonder if it’s even legit.

1) When was the GTA San Andreas source code leak first reported?
On December 5, 2024, many fans noticed that a Grand Theft Auto source code leak had reportedly surfaced on social media. Grand Theft Auto community member @NationalPepper, was the first to report the leak on X. They stated:
“Looks like GTA SA source code is circulating over the internet, but the archive is PW protected.”
2) GTA San Andreas source code leak: Is it legit?
By the time of writing this article, Rockstar Games had not confirmed the legitimacy of the leak or commented on the situation. However, as per @PliskinDev, there’s no legitimacy in the leak. According to their report, this is a fake and contains ransomware:

3) What were the previous leaks that Rockstar Games faced?
In 2022, Rockstar Games faced one of its biggest fiascos when footage related to the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 video game leaked online. Over 90 different pictures and videos were leaked, showing a glimpse of the returning Vice City as well as the two protagonists. The situation was so severe that Rockstar themselves acknowledged the leak, proving its legitimacy.
2023 also witnessed two major leak incidents. First, the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer got leaked before its scheduled release. Rockstar quickly analyzed the situation and released the trailer right away.
However, the game studio faced another blow when Grand Theft Auto 5’s source code got leaked on the internet. The leak reportedly even revealed information about Bully 2, Midnight Club 5, and Project Americas. Although the developers didn’t comment on the situation officially, the leaks were deemed to be legit.
In 2024, some files related to Grand Theft Auto 3 and San Andreas reportedly leaked, revealing sensitive information like the canceled multiplayer project.
