3) What were the previous leaks that Rockstar Games faced?

In 2022, Rockstar Games faced one of its biggest fiascos when footage related to the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 video game leaked online. Over 90 different pictures and videos were leaked, showing a glimpse of the returning Vice City as well as the two protagonists. The situation was so severe that Rockstar themselves acknowledged the leak, proving its legitimacy.

2023 also witnessed two major leak incidents. First, the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer got leaked before its scheduled release. Rockstar quickly analyzed the situation and released the trailer right away.

However, the game studio faced another blow when Grand Theft Auto 5’s source code got leaked on the internet. The leak reportedly even revealed information about Bully 2, Midnight Club 5, and Project Americas. Although the developers didn’t comment on the situation officially, the leaks were deemed to be legit.

In 2024, some files related to Grand Theft Auto 3 and San Andreas reportedly leaked, revealing sensitive information like the canceled multiplayer project.

All of this shows how Rockstar Games has had to deal with several issues, as they continue working on Grand Theft Auto 6.
