The Grand Theft Auto community is incredibly talented at making mods, and GTA Sindacco Chronicles is one of the best examples of that. For those unaware, this is an extremely ambitious, total conversion mod for a Grand Theft Auto title that was released in the mid-2000s. The extension lets fans experience almost a brand-new entry in the series.
The mod was launched in the summer of 2023 and features a bunch of content. Given that GTA 6's release is still far away, playing GTA Sindacco Chronicles can keep fans busy in the meantime. So, here's everything that you need to know about this mod.
GTA Sindacco Chronicles: Features, missions, platforms, and more
GTA Sindacco Chronicles is a total conversion mod for GTA Liberty City Stories, a title that was released way back in 2005. It was developed by a group of Grand Theft Auto modding enthusiasts under the name of Barcode Studia and was launched in June 2023.
The modded game's story is set in 1998 during a gang war between the Sindacco, Forelli, and Leone crime families for control and domination of Liberty City. The extension features multiple playable protagonists, which might also be the case in GTA 6 story mode. Moreover, the mod has 100 brand-new missions, 60 of which are related to its narrative.

Other notable features of this extension include four purchasable assets with their own missions, six safehouses you can buy, 15 business estates that can be taken over like in GTA Vice City Stories, 15 unique stunt jumps, 15 rampages, and 64 hidden packages.
It also has cutscenes, a new radio set, Easter eggs, and an option for AI voice-over, all of which make GTA Sindacco Chronicles one of the most enjoyable and best GTA mods ever crafted.
Those interested can currently download its PlayStation Portable version and then use the console's emulator to play it on PC. Moreover, its PlayStation 2 version is supposed to be released at some point in the future as well.

This GTA Liberty City Stories mod has the potential to keep fans entertained while they wait for GTA 6. Its gameplay and visual effects are akin to most Grand Theft Auto 3D Universe installments.
However, if you want something a bit more modern, then the upcoming GTA Vice City RAGE engine mod might be of interest to you. It transfers the 2002 Rockstar Games hit to GTA 4's engine, renewing its gameplay, physics, and visual effects. The mod is, notably, planned to be released in the second half of 2024 and will be free.
