A new Nintendo Direct has been announced, and fans couldn’t help but speculate which games will be revealed for the Switch, the company's gaming console. Popular YouTuber @mrpyo1 posted a list of video games they believe will be showcased at the event, including:
“GTA V port”
@mrpyo1 also predicted a possible “GTA 6 is coming to Switch 2” announcement. However, Nintendo rubbished this speculation by stating that "there will be no mention of the Switch successor" during the event.
Another user @realradec commented on the post, stating that they are surprised that GTA 5 hasn’t been ported to the Switch yet. Here’s what they followed up this thought with:
“GTA: Online is probably the hold up but I'd cop GTA V for Switch if it was the campaign only”
Another X user, @rohit_0718, stated that the chances of GTA 6 coming to Nintendo are low.
Here are some of the other noteworthy reactions to @mrpyo1’s X post, showing fans' expectations from the upcoming Nintendo Direct:
Players should note Rockstar Games ported the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition to the Nintendo Switch in 2021. The company also ported the acclaimed Red Dead Redemption last year. This shows that the developer is open to porting its iconic games to the Nintendo consoles.
It is possible that a GTA 5 port could be released before the studio's next big blockbuster, Grand Theft Auto 6, arrives.
What other games are expected to be announced at the upcoming Nintendo Direct?
Here are other video games anticipated to be revealed during the new Nintendo Direct, based on rumors and speculations on the internet:
- New Mario game (possibly Super Mario Party: Multiverse Mania)
- Metroid Prime 2-3 Remaster
- Metroid Prime 4
- New Mario Kart
- New Pokemon Games (possibly Amanda and Chris)

- LEGO Horizon Adventures gameplay
- New Donkey Kong
- The Legend of Zelda Crown of Destiny
- The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD
- Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD
- Several Hollow Knight games
- New game equivalent to Wii Sports Resort
Players should take these predictions with a grain of salt as some of the games’ names are completely based on rumors, and Nintendo hasn’t confirmed their existence yet.
The new Nintendo Direct is scheduled to start on June 18, 2024, at 7:00 AM PT.
