The size speculation for GTA 6 is one of the hottest debates in the gaming community. Rockstar Games is expected to build a colossal game that will amuse fans for years to come. Considering the game has seen significant graphical and physics improvements from Grand Theft Auto 5, we can expect it to take around 200 GB of disk space.
The September 2022 leaked videos were from a pre-alpha stage and sized around 80 GB. However, at this stage, game developers only use the necessary features and elements to test them. The final version of the game will have more in-game elements that will increase the total size. Therefore, one should free up at least 200 GB of space in their disks before the release date.
However, the GTA 6 PC version might take up more space. The current title is around 95 GB on consoles and 110 GB on the PC. Since the PC version comes with extra features and graphical improvements, it might be bigger.
The recent size reveal of Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 also compelled fans to speculate on the upcoming Grand Theft Auto game’s file size. Black Ops 6 will take up 300 GB of disk space. According to popular YouTuber NikTek (X/@NikTekOfficial), Grand Theft Auto 6 would be above 270 GB.
Some fans also think that the GTA 6 size will not exceed 200 GB as Rockstar Games knows how to optimize their video games.
Rockstar’s latest game, Red Dead Redemption 2, is around 150 GB. It is one of the most impressive games that has more details than Grand Theft Auto 5. Therefore, it is safe to assume that the upcoming game will not touch the 300 GB mark, especially at the initial release. However, once the multiplayer version arrives and Rockstar releases GTA 6 DLCs, its size might increase.
