Although the Grand Theft Auto community is eagerly awaiting the release of GTA 6 in Fall 2025, they're also looking forward to Bully 2, a sequel to a classic Rockstar Games title from 2006. Liam (@billsyliamgta), a popular Grand Theft Auto community member and creator of the Los Santos Heists RP server, said how he believes Bully 2 will be the next project from Rockstar:
"Looking back at 2022, when Rockstar Games first acknowledged the existence of GTA VI, and seeing how many people said “oh I wanted Bully 2”. Really makes me think just how influential this one PS2 game was. Gut feeling tells me, it’ll be their next project. Them trying SO many times to make a sequel, but I guess they never managed to quite hit the bar. Fingers crossed for the future!"
In response, SWEGTA, another popular member of the Rockstar Games fanbase known for their Bully videos on YouTube, wrote that it would be an excellent approach for the developer to regain the trust of its fans. They also added how it would make sense for something smaller to fill in the gap between Grand Theft Auto 7 and Red Dead Redemption 3.
In 2023, dataminers (such as @lmk_nathan42915 on X) revealed some concept art for the game. References to the planned sequel were also found during the Grand Theft Auto V source code leak in 2023, which also revealed some canceled projects and DLCs.
As Liam mentioned, SWEGTA had also made a video on some leaked Bully 2 concept art and soundtrack samples back in 2019:
However, some fans are doubtful as to whether Rockstar will even think about making the sequel. As the concept art shows, the developer was working on the game at one point, but it's generally believed to have been canceled.
Despite this, the vast majority of fans remain hopeful that Rockstar will eventually release a sequel to this iconic open-world game from 2006.
All Bully 2 leaks that came out before GTA 6
Bully 2 has had many of its details leaked over the years, including everything from the protagonist to the map. Jimmy Hopkins was supposed to return as the main character, and the map seems to have been in a much more suburban setting, as seen from the Bully 2 early concept art.
It was also planned to be bigger than Bullworth but not as big as that of a modern Grand Theft Auto title. YouTuber TheNathanNS does a thorough analysis of all the leaks shared so far in the video embedded above.
