There aren't many explorable interiors in GTA Online, as many of the places you can enter in story mode are locked in multiplayer. However, there are still quite a few places you can explore, and in true Rockstar fashion, these are all highly detailed.
There are rumors about GTA 6 having several more interiors than any game in the series before. Thus, if you're planning on going back and paying a visit to all the explorable interiors in GTA Online, we've created a small list of all of these locations.
Note: This article only lists the completely open interiors, and not the ones that come with a load screen, like the different properties.
All explorable interiors in GTA Online listed before GTA 6 arrives
There are several interiors in the game that can be accessed with some exploits or glitches, but this article only explores ones you can enter normally or with ease. With that in mind, here's a list of all the explorable interiors in GTA Online as of May 2024.
Pacific Standard Public Deposit Bank: This bank is the scene of a heist in GTA Online, but you can also visit it during freeroam.
FIB Headquarters: Getting inside this building requires you to use a glitch, but it's fairly easy. Just get next to the glass roof with a helicopter and either force yourself through it by pushing yourself against the vehicle, or get kicked out from the chopper by another player (towards the roof).
A specific terminal at the airport: There's a small secondary terminal at the southern point of the LSIA, which is enterable. There's a door at the end of a staircase that looks unenterable, but that's not the case.

A specific building at the port: There's a small building at the Port of Los Santos that you can enter both during missions and in freeroam.
A specific trailer at Stab City: Stab City is a trailer park, where you can enter one of the trailers. There's another trailer that has detailed interiors, but you can't get in.
Abandoned mineshaft: One of the most iconic explorable interiors in GTA Online and GTA 5 is the abandoned mineshaft. You have to blow open the mine doors to enter.
Sandy shores airfield ATC tower: The small ATC tower at Sandy Shores airfield is one of the fully explorable interiors in GTA Online.
Military base ATC tower: Unlike the Sandy Shores ATC tower, the one at the Fort Zancudo is bigger, and even has elevators and NPCs inside. They won't be hostile if you have a Hangar at the Fort.
Yellow Jack Inn: This bar is featured in story mode missions but it's also one of the explorable interiors in GTA Online, which you can visit at any time.

Enterable interiors in the GTA series have been a thing of fascination for players for a long time. Up until San Andreas, most enterable interiors weren't fully open; they were part of a hidden interiors universe. It was Grand Theft Auto 4 that paved the way for a completely open map, with all interiors being explorable in real-time.
From the detailed apartments and hospitals to the various restaurants, fast food chains, a bowling alley, and even strip clubs, there were tons of places to explore in the game. Many of these were associated with the friend activities, like drinking and bowling, while some were featured in missions. On a related note, bowling should return in GTA 6 as a side-activity.
Others were just explorable for the sake of exploration alone, lending an immersive feel to the game. With GTA 5, the list grew much shorter, and some places were locked behind certain missions. We're hoping the next game brings back more interiors, as at least one rumor has hinted at 70% of the interiors being explorable.
