"Literally identical": Some fans believe Rockstar might be backporting content into GTA Online Summer Update 2024

GTA Online Summer Update 2024, officially named the Bottom Dollar Bounties, is set to release on June 25, 2024, on all currently supported gaming platforms. Rockstar Games released a trailer for the DLC on June 18, 2024, showing a glimpse of what to expect from the big summer update. It also revealed several upcoming cars and vehicles, which will mostly be police cars.

However, some fans quickly pointed out the possibility of the developers backporting assets from the unreleased GTA 6 into the decade-old game. User @NotGameRoll compared a character from the GTA Online Summer Update 2024’s cover art (known as Wyman among the community) with a still from the GTA 6 leaks of 2022 and pointed out that the two looked similar. Here's what they stated in their X post on June 19, 2024:

"this is the only comparison you guys should use. literally identical here"

Another X user @Jason6_VI2025 suggested a theory of it being the same character. They believe that 'Wyman' could actually be from Los Santos and connected to GTA 6 in the following manner:

"Maybe in the end of the DLC, he will travel to vice city"

Many fans found similarities between the two as evidenced by the following comments:

Players should take all of these speculations with a grain of salt as it's not confirmed at the moment whether GTA 6 assets have been backported or not.

What to expect from the GTA Online Summer Update 2024?

The upcoming GTA Online Summer Update 2024, the Bottom Dollar Bounties, will add a new business to the game, the Bottom Dollar Bail Enforcement. This will allow players to work with Maude Eccles's daughter Jenette in possibly capturing criminals across Los Santos. Next, gamers will be able to launch a new set of missions via LSPD Officer Vincent Effenburger in the new Dispatch Work.

When it comes to new vehicles, the developers have already announced the Overflod Pipistrello supercar, which will be free for all Plus members for a limited time. Apart from that, the trailer revealed several new rides that fans can expect from the DLC. This includes possible additions like:

• New Burrito
• Police Greenwood

• Police Impaler

The latest GTA Online weekly update also revealed that the Bottom Dollar Bounties will bring drifting customization for three more cars in the game.
