"New consoles should be powerful enough": GTA 6 fans don't want vehicle speed limitation from GTA 5

GTA 6 fans continue to discuss the vehicle features in the upcoming game, as the first trailer showed significant improvements in many aspects. Recently, on Reddit, a user named sisqo_99 posted a thread discussing the vehicle speed limitation. They stated that sports and supercars should go beyond 121 mph:

Another GTA 6 fan, GrandmasShavedBeaver, explained a possible reason for the vehicle speed limitation and said that the new gaming consoles should be powerful enough to eliminate this issue:

“I read a few years ago, the reason the speed was throttled, was that the map wouldn’t be able to properly render quick enough to keep up with the car. I don’t know if that’s true. But if so, these new consoles should be powerful enough to process quicker. I guess we’ll see.

One user, cjtangmi, stated that the size of the Grand Theft Auto 6 map is bigger, and the vehicle speed limitation might not occur in the future:

“I think this is very much possible seeing as the map is supposedly twice the size of GTA5’s.”

However, only Hao's Special Works Upgradable cars can reach such speeds. The feature is only available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players.

User LazyLaje stated that the upcoming game’s vehicles should feel like cars from Grand Theft Auto 4:

“I just hope it's like GTA IV where cars actually feel different”

While most GTA 6 fans talked about car speeds in the upcoming game, a user named FoundationGreen6342 commented that the vehicle speed limitation should also be removed from aircraft:

“This is the exact same with airplanes. If gta 6 really is almost 3x bigger than gta 5, I think that could allow everything to reach its real life speed. And the consoles will handle it.”

GTA 6 fans want Rockstar Games to make cars faster than in Grand Theft Auto 5

The fastest car in Grand Theft Auto 5 is the Vapid Pißwasser Dominator, which can reach a top speed of only 126.50 mph (203.58 km/h). Although new GTA Online DLC updates bring faster cars to the multiplayer game, they are still capped at relatively lower speeds. Therefore, GTA 6 fans want Rockstar Games to add realistically faster cars in the future.
