Grand Theft Auto fans have been suspecting Rockstar Games of backporting content, especially cars, from GTA 6 to GTA Online lately. They believe some recently added vehicles seem more detailed than the usual cars made for the latter title. In fact, the Bravado Gauntlet Interceptor (added in March 2024) was even spotted in the sequel's first trailer.

However, known data miner @monkeypolice188 argues that these cars are made for Grand Theft Auto Online and then might have been added to Grand Theft Auto 6 with some improvements. According to them, Rockstar likely swaps out interiors and other reusable assets for vehicles made for the 2013 title before adding it to the next installment.

In response to @morsmutual_'s post regarding the Declasse Yosemite 1500 possibly being backported from GTA 6, data miner and GTA Wiki admin @monkeypolice188 explained why that apparently isn't the case.

They alleged that cars suspected of being backported were originally made for Grand Theft Auto 5/Online and only then might have been then added to its sequel, as that is the logical workflow. The data miner, notably, also said that while it is possible for these cars to have been made with Grand Theft Auto 6 in mind, it doesn't necessarily mean that they have been backported.

Even the Bravado Gauntlet Interceptor, that was spotted in the first GTA 6 trailer before debuting in Grand Theft Auto Online, doesn't seem to have been backported, as @monkeypolice188 stated it was cut from the multiplayer title four years ago, likely as part of the canceled Cops N Crooks DLC.

One fan brought up the recently added Declasse Impaler SZ to the discussion, stating that it looked too detailed compared to older Grand Theft Auto Online cars. But @monkeypolice188 replied that its door seams and fake AO gaps suggest the vehicle was made for the 2013 title, as the sequel seemingly features detailed, physical gaps as per its trailer.

Besides cars, a new Bottom Dollar Bounties update necklace was suspected of being backported from Grand Theft Auto 6, since a highly similar accessory was seen in the sequel's trailer.

However, it now seems @monkeypolice188's logic could apply to this situation as well.
