There was some serious belief among some fans that GTA 6 trailer 2 would come out on December 27, 2024. What started as just a theory became an almost believable thing worldwide when the popular GTA 5 actor Ned Luke also posted “December 27, 2024” on the social media platform X. This led many believe to that the GTA 6 trailer 2 could either be announced or released by Rockstar Games.
While that didn’t happen, unexpected news came later in the day. Republic of Gamers (ROG) announced on X that Ned Luke has become an official brand ambassador. They welcomed the popular face of the recent Grand Theft Auto title, sharing a graphic with the following statement from the actor:
“Looks like I am gonna postpone my retirement.”

As can be seen above, the GTA 5 actor Ned Luke replied to a post on X, shedding light on his post of December 27:
“My post has nothing to do with Rockstar or GTA 6. Y’all STOP listening to these so called, self proclaimed insiders.”
His statement seemingly confirmed that many in the gaming community thought he was teasing the GTA 6 trailer 2 before ROG’s announcement.
While many may already know by now why his post of December 27 was thought to be a tease for the upcoming game, some may wonder how it led to such speculations.

It all started when one of the Rockstar developers posted a picture on X on December 19, 2024, and fans noticed a note in it. That note contained some numbers and names, which many believed led to the number 27. This started the speculation that the dev teased the release date of Grand Theft Auto 6’s second trailer.
Since then, fans tried to find more connections between Rockstar Games and the number 27, including:
- 27 posts count on Rockstar’s Instagram account
- The founding date of the company — December 27, 1998
While no such trailer or announcement came out, this seemingly proved that fans are excited to know more about the upcoming game. Rockstar might share news about it soon, hopefully in the beginning of 2025.
