While the GTA 6 release date was announced for the fall of 2025 earlier this year, rumors spread online about a possible delay to 2026. However, there’s good news for fans waiting to get their hands on the next installment from the beloved Grand Theft Auto series. According to Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive’s 2024 annual report, as first reported by Indy 100, the company is indeed planning for a GTA 6 release date sometime in the fall of 2025.
The official document also revealed that Take-Two Interactive will share more details about the game over time.
GTA 6 release date seemingly re-confirmed for 2025, debunking all 2026 rumors
As per the document, Take-Two Interactive stated its plans about a possible GTA 6 release date. Here's what it says:
"Rockstar Games continues to invest in the franchise and plans to release Grand Theft Auto VI in the fall of calendar 2025. The label released its first trailer for the title in December 2023 and will share more details over time."
Many fans are now excited to know that the GTA 6 release date is unlikely to be delayed to 2026, now that Take-Two has confirmed its plans to release the game in 2025. A fan on Reddit, GeneMurky8070, shared their excitement:
“Looking forward to next year’s marketing period from Rockstar. They make some of the best trailers. Exciting times.”
Another fan TheLolicorrector guessed a release date of November 2025 post-the reconfirmation:
“My bet is on a November release, then they get even more sales in December due to Christmas.”
This debunks the rumor that spread online last week about the game possibly being delayed to 2026.

Players should note that the confirmation doesn’t guarantee a 2025 release, as plans could change between now and the fall of 2025. However, for now, this comes as good news for fans who want to play the game as early as possible.
