GTA 6 has won the Most Anticipated Game award at The Game Awards 2024. Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, Ghost of Yotei, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and Monster Hunter Wilds are the other nominees in the category. The Rockstar Games title is currently targeting a Fall 2025 release window, and the gaming community is incredibly excited about its arrival next year.
Last month, the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto sequel won Most Wanted Game at the Golden Joystick Awards. The award was received by a Rockstar representative. Fans expected the same to happen at The Game Awards 2024, but that was not the case.
Nevertheless, with Grand Theft Auto 6's release window set for next year, the Grand Theft Auto fanbase hopes to see a few new trailers and possibly even screenshots from the game in the near future.
GTA 6 beats Death Stranding 2, Ghost of Yotei, and more to win Most Anticipated Game at The Game Awards 2024
The Game Awards announced Grand Theft Auto 6 as a nominee in its Most Anticipated Game category with a post on X on November 19, 2024. Given the excitement around the Rockstar Games title, fans on social media were confident that it would win, despite there being some big names in contention.
Some fans were also hoping to see GTA 6 trailer 2 at The Game Awards 2024 if it won in its category, but that didn't happen either.
It has now been over a year since the first GTA 6 trailer came out, and nothing new has been revealed since, besides the announcement of its Fall 2025 release window at a Take-Two Interactive earnings call back in May. Therefore, fans' desire for new updates is understandable.
