Well-known Rockstar Games insider and data miner Tez2 has just reported that a GTA Online background update has been released, fixing various issues. These include an Agency God Mode glitch, that made players impervious to any damage, Cluckin Bell Raid as well as Union Depository Contract setup mission bugs, and a few other such problems, improving the overall experience.
Interestingly, the background update has reportedly also disabled components for weapons available as pickups in Deathmatches. This has apparently been done to prevent drip-feed content (unreleased items in any GTA Online update) from being accessed early.
Bugs and glitches patched with today's GTA Online background update (July 4, 2024)
The latest background update, released a few hours after today's GTA Online weekly update, has implemented some much-needed fixes such as players being detected by CCTVs even in disguise, and unique tattoos disappearing upon switching sessions. However, a previous fix for another tattoo-related issue has reportedly been removed with the update.
A bug related to the final Cluckin Bell Farm Raid setup mission, Disorganized Crime, that stopped the Cluckin Bell factory key card and money bags from spawning in lockers has been patched. A recently discovered Union Depository Contract bug that blocked vehicles from being stashed at marked locations has been patched with today's background update as well.
A duplication glitch is also among the issues that have been patched today. This particular one would spawn a duplicate Sparrow on the Office helipad whenever a player would dock the same helicopter at that location.
Lastly, another God Mode glitch, this time linked with the Celebrity Solutions Agency (one of the many GTA Online businesses) has been patched. As mentioned, it made the exploiter impervious to any damage, which would be a major problem to anyone engaging with them in PvP.
The game has witnessed countless God Mode glitches by this point, the most infamous ones being the Speedo Custom God Mode glitch. It took a considerably long time to be dealt with but was finally removed with a similar background update earlier this year in January.
